Default Airport diorama builders

As an avid diorama builder, and hoping I can assist others with actual dimensions needed to do the "piano keys" and fixed distance markings typical of most airports, I can help you by supplying you with copies of actual "REAL" engineering drawings used to lay out the markings used. I must emphasise these plans are a few years old now but are fairly standard of airport markings used here in AUSTRALIA, so if you are stuck for ideas, send me a PM. Can also supply parking position markings of older airport powerin/out markings also.

I look forward to discussing our passion on Saturday Steve.
I suspect it will be a loooooooooong lunch, after a good mornings spotting at the airport first.
All is going to plan at this stage so I will be there and hope many of the ADL collectors come along.

Looking FWD to it and only hope i can help others bring total realism into there projects. I was VERY fortunate to get a lot of plans years ago, and are happy to help others along the way, some of you may have seen the dioramas I did for Collectors Aircraft Models in Melbourne Australia, and these are done from actual plans or from photos, so if any one needs a little help along the way, just PM me and lets see how I can help>

I have seen your work at CAM and it is extremely impressive to say the least.
What is the length of the diorama at the rear. It looks about 11-12ft.
I will be eager to share horror stories also when the best laid plans go seriously wrong and I know I have a few of them.

Yeah its a biggy
3.6m long by 1.5 wide, 6 weeks to do the buildings, roughly! and then post everything over, then fix stuff that got broken in transit and then ROB and Mark with me got it all together in 2 days. 500 scale was the big thing then and allowed a lot more scenery to be shown. Bloody big thing to create in a short 2 days and even worse when you live interstate and fly in early one day and late the next.
If i lived in melbourne I could have done a lot more but time constraints were against me.
Steve K BTW it was finished in Late MAY 2002.

Have a go at a diorama, they really show off your models in the best possible way. If i can be of help, please send me a Pm and i will fwd info to you as i have done a few in my time and can only offer good advice to those who are seriously thinking about doing a display. Got any idea as to how big you want to go and is it going to be just terminal, or perhaps some taxiway/runway as well??
And by the way, we are expectin twins!!
