This project started as a renovation of an exisiting airport, but I ended up starting completely over. Everything is homeade except the jetways and several Herpa parts incorportated into my terminals. There is absolutely NO Herpa ground equipment. Here are some pics:
Btw, every jetway has the airline name and gate number, and all but the very short jetways have a staircase. NOTE: The pictures are absolutely unedited (such as increasing brightness and so-on), as I feel it should look exactly as it does in real life. So, if the picture quality is not excellent, that is why. willio Last edited by willio; 02-09-2008 at 01:19 PM. |

Yes, I made the UPS; I designed it on Word, printed it on photo paper and bent it to shape. As for the roadways, they are not yet finished (I haven't even put them around the terminal yet) and I plan to smooth them out once I finish them. Thanks for the comments all!

I really like what you've done with the airport. Is it all cardboard? I'd love to be able to make something like this myself!

Well, the base is spray-painted masonite and the terminals are constructed from spray painted foam core, transparencies, and poster board.

I love it!! What materials did you use for the buildings? Was it evergreen?

Nope. In fact, it's not even plastic, it's paper and foam core, which is a ton cheaper than plastic. I probably spent a total of about $10 for the whole terminal. The entire airport (excluding the jetways and models) cost $50 total.
