Default Need your help!

I realized that i have absolutely no clue how to model freshly mowed grass for my airport using stuff from woodland scenics. any of you seasoned (or not seasoned) modelers have any hints or ideas? you know something that looks like:

the only thing i can guess is use a guide that masks off one color from the next and use different grass colors...

I personaly have never used Woodland scenics grass, but I know that they offer different shades of green in turf that you could use.

Model Power Grass Mat Non-Shed 54x99"

Have a look into train modeling. They use grass matts all the time. Readily available at specialised retailers. The link above was just the first to pop up on Google.
