Spantax Mc Donnel Douglas DC-10 at gate B1. Normally there is an Airbus 340-300 displayed at this gate. That's why the beltloader is in a wrong position.

Nice representation of the retros! Are these in 1:500? BTW, what is Spantax? Where is it based? Does it still exist?

FANTASTIC! The Western DC-4 will be at GLV in a "special" place. Nice to see retro's at a modern airport.

Great name for an airline - Spantax. It really rhymes well with spandex.

It's Spanish and it doesn't exist anymore. I think there was an accident with one of those Spantax DC-10 during the 80:s. I saw it once at Arlanda in Stockholm back then.

Yes The GSE are glued. I makes the airport much easier to vacuumclean.

That's a good one, Henrik! But with the 'wings', it isn't tampax anymore.

Hej Henrik.

I think it was a Spantax Convair 990 that crashed in the winter time. I remember seing this on TV and rescue took long time in the winter night. But this was long-long time ago.

Hej (as we say here in Sweden),

I’ve never heard about that accident until now, so I made some search on the internet to find out. I found that the Spantax Covair 990 accident occurred in Januari 5 1970 at Stockholm Arlanda airport. I was only one year old by then, so I guess I would'nt remember it.

The incident I was thinking of occurred at Malaga airport September 14 1982 and it was a Spantax DC-10.

Thank God for internet!

I don't know, and I'm not sure if I want to know. It costed some, but it brings a lot of joy, and that's what matter, I think.

Hej igen Henrik.

Maybe I read your message about the DC-10 accident too quick. I can see you didn't refer to that accident. Anyway now some people know about the Arlanda accident.

One other thing I'm 14 years older than you, based on your message.

Keep on showing your wonderful airport photos. I would like to make an airport model and take lots of photos, but time is not enought right now.

I have collected details about the original Torslanda airport building and that will be my first attempt....some day.

Hej då!!
