Default Finished 1:500 Model Airport Pics

Attatched are pictures that I took of my recently completed 1:500 Herpa Wings model airport. I would be happy to hear from anyone with suggestions as to what I could do to improve the airport.

Nice little airport, nice lookin ocean, maybe put little herpa fences around the edge of the tarmac and maybe put some approach lights in the water and cliff edge, that would look really cool! Great job!

thanks so much for the advice- I especially like the idea of runway approach lights.

I just realized that I forgot to include some close-ups of the airport.

P.S. -I also have a large airport that is less detailed but has cooler looking terminals- the website for my other airport is Will's Model Airport |.

oh yeah- I forgot to ask if anyone knows how to make the taxiways look aged; I just rubbed pencil lead on my finger and smeared it around on the taxiway, but that seemed like it might wear off (and possibly onto my planes) after time.

If you have an airbrush you can spray a light coat of black over everything, including; Taxiways, jetbridges, building, runways, etc.

in art class we used a fixative (forgot the technical name of it) to secure our charcoaled drawings onto the paper.

you should try modeling with woodlandscenics (www.woodlandscenics.com). it will yield crazy realistic results. i use their products on my airports.

Runway centreline lights are not red. You may also want to use red lights for high-profile structures that are in the approach path of landing and take-off.

No idea? But how can you be sure I am definitely older than you? Actually, if you are 23, then yes, I am definitely older than you!
