Come Fly with ME!!
|
Here it a mock up of what I have planned. I plan on keeping the us airways terminal but may change the others a bit. Again this is not the finished product, just a mere design and plan for the real thing. When I get the ground painted I will open that airport but have it be an ongoing construction project untin it git-r-done. Let me know what you think about the design and also make suggestions as to how it could possible be improven on.
Thanks, Greg ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I like your concept…are you going to use Herpa buildings?
I can see a little bit of philly there with the way you arranged the aircraft. Since you have the space you do, you should slide the whole terminal down a little and add on more concourse |

Yes, I am going to be building my own. I experimented woth wood today but it was a little hard to manage with. I will just go with plastics, I'm better with those anyway. However I did build a small terminal with the wood I cut. So now I have two airports to build.

Hi, would you know the specific model numbers for the Legos? Something like that would make a good skeleton for the terminal that I'm planning to construct.

I really like your collection, It reminds me of my own.
Mostly U.S. carriers. Its also nice to see someone build something without seeing a 747 or some fantasy Jumbo at every gate.

Very nice! I had forgotten how great legos were for building anything. I think I'll use legos as the base for the new terminal I'm building... off to the lego store!

Thats a good idea-using legos to plan out an airport... I'll have to try that.
Anyway, looks like it will be a great airport; I'd add another concourse like N66LX said. What do you plan on using as jetbridges? willio |

I really like the basic idea and design of this airport. I think it is perfectly sized. You could stick with the legos, and maybe just construct a roof to hide its "lego" origin. Oh, and get some herpa or gj jetways.

Dylan makes a good point. The design is very good. Just clad the structure and pimp some airbridges out of evergreen or buy Herpa or GJ. Well done on your design.

Very good design. This is good proof that when used right, LEGOs can be used as a good solid building material for airports. Using certain brick elements, you can help hide it's lego origin. What I could recommend for the roof is to maybe get one of those flat pieces that go into a 4x4 stud dimension. As for jetways, you can take dylan's advice and take some GJ or herpa jetways, or better yet, customize those you have already. There is a certain element, I forgot what it was called, but it was used to make headlights for cars or for even traffic signals in the LEGO sets. With some customization, they make decent jetways, I had made some small makeshift gates using this element in the old NWL that I had made.

Reminds me of a portion of the X-shaped Satellite Building at the KLIA... Great idea of using Legos to build the terminal, though!

Stick with your original design.....leave the terminal in place. if you stick a tram/train then it will just be a copy of MCO.
