Ok I’m starting my International Airport model and I have a few questions for you guys.
I started by buying the Gemini Jets ground foil. My plan is to do a 1:500 scale airport I’m planning to install Fiber Optic lighting for all of the movement areas. There will be no light placement issues just, getting the Fiber Optics and getting it done Do any of you know where to buy bundles of six foot Fiber Optic cables? Any Suggestions for going about creating realistic lighting? I have been looking through some of your airports and they are all very impressive. |

Are You sure about the scale? Gemini Jets airport mats are 1:400 and 1:250. When it comes to relistic lightning the fibres will make a realistic impression of runway/taxiway lights. When it comes to apron lights have a look at z-scale railway lights. For instance Viessmann which I have used. Many of them will make a more realistic impression then i.e. the Herpa apron lights.

I'm no expert either, so I'm here to learn.
Thanks for the tip with z-scale lighting. There's a store here that sells them.

I would go with herpa ground foils. They really have some great stuff for sale, including a whole lighting system. Go to herpa.de and check it out.
