Smile 1/100 airliners modeler

Dear friends, only now I discover your forum! I'm an italian modeler and I like 1/100 airliners (Doyusha, Entex, Nitto); I'm also a railroad modeler (H0 scale), so I have a target in my mind: a railroad layout hosting a little airport area;
I transformed a Faller kit to begin building the first part of my little touristic airport. I'm working hard during my free hours and something is already available to be seen. I need suggestions and more! bye

Default airport support vehicles

nice your selfmade scenery!
I made this stair-truck on the base of a Preiser MB; 1/87 scale for the 1/100 airliners (Doyusha, Entex, Nitto)

haha yea its taking a long time. i got work everyday for a full 8 hrs which is holding this all back. Since i dont have the tools to solder i gotta take these displays to where my friend works at a lighting and design center to get it all setup and since there he can get me the wires and stuff needed.
it will be done before you or i die promise! hehe.

behold. the power of LEDs.
pretty straight forward. interior of the hangar i was able to get a hold of 2 strips of 20 leds each to mimic hangar work lights, you can see it in the ground reflections. terminal display isnt totally done yet. all leds were soldered together with a tangle of wires hidden beneath the display hehe. enjoy!

and on more biggey as a finale! ill take more pictures later if i have more time. worked a total of 6 hours from 9pm-3am in the morning to get this done. thanks to my friend for the hookups on the workspace, tools, and all the connectors that went into this, without him this couldnt have been done. both displays are powered with the same LED driver with the interior hangar lights powered by its own. that power driver barely runs all these lights at 12v. lights sometimes comes on, sometimes doesnt so i might have to obtain a regulator in the future.

everything is custom made to disconnectable so the hangar electrical connections pops off its base and likewise for the terminal and both displays are separatable from each other.

Im thinking about collecting herpa military jets now. perhaps there will be a future with a display of a wooded/camo airbase.

Thanks for the long-awaited pics! Very nicely done! BTW, just a suggestion and I am not sure if it is possible since you have your hangar frame made and you have cut out the holes for the LEDs. But I think those LEDs should be place higher and the word "EVERGREEN" slightly lower so that the LEDs will illuminate the "EVERGREEN" word entirely. Or you can make another hole for 2 or 3 LEDs directly above the "EVERGREEN" word and leave everything else the way it is.

What size are those LEDs? 3mm or 5mm? It looks like 5mm to me but I could be wrong.

they are 3mm, only 5mms are backlighting my LWT international sign. i wanted smaller ones like what dizhu showed but that would have jacked up the cost waaaaaay too much for my budget. maybe in the future ill retrofit
