Default Pixelport

Is the Pixelport site still up and taking new orders? I have their International Airport Set and would like to buy more tiles. Tried to order online but no response! Thanks

PiXelPort has stopped selling the foils, but they do have CDs with every foil avaliable. Just take it to Kinko's or a similar copy shop and ask them to print the foils you need on photo matte paper with the highest quality possible. Then use an paper cutter to trim the white edges from it, and presto! You've got your foil. Compared to buying the foils one piece at a time, I saved 50% per foil, and the quality is near-identical between the factory-made ones and the ones I made in the manner described above.

Just buy a color laser printer that's what I did; and in the year 2020 I will have finally broken even on the venture.

I bought the OKI Data C5100 (current model C5200) and it ran me about $600.

As for the larger printing Kinkos; unless you know an architect or draftsman.

That's precisely why I went with Kinko's. To buy your own printer and ink capable of those results will most likely be more costly than the airport itself.

Okidata 5200 is a great printer I used to use it at my old workplace.
Great idea but I would like a color printer that can print on larger paper such as 11" x 14" or 24"
The paper I can buy in bulk so that is not really a problem.
I will check with a couple of print shops like Minute Man and Kinkos.
Using a sealer on the paper after printing is a good idea to keep the ink on the paper. Make sure to use any Chalks before sealing the paper.
If you are going to permanently mount the paper on a board or other surface you can use a spray adhesive but only use a light spray as not to stain or "wet" the paper which will ruin the coloration.
Be careful to position the paper carefully because you really can't move the paper after it's positioned (one or two small adjustments but that's about all).
Lay your papers out before you do any final positioning and make sure to trim carefully so you don't take off anything you will need.
You can use a Matt Roller (mini steam roller without the steam) to make sure the papers are perfectly flat and smooth when glues down to your surface.
If you are going to do any extra paint, chalk or tape on the surfact after it has been glued be sure to spray the sealant to make sure all papers are sealed to your surface.
Finally sit back relax and enjoy your creation.
Now who can help me get a Pixelport CD set?

Unhappy How do you print the foils and view them

I have one of the Pixelport CD's but I can't print the foils, I try to view them but they have a big red arrow on them also I can"t lay them out in building an airport.
This CD does not seem to line up properly and I got it from Adam Jets.
What am I doing wrong?
How do I use the CD?

You have bought the layout CD. It can be used to layout your airport model. I have sent you an email with the link to the user guide. The ready-to-print CD with the foils in full scale (400 or 500) must be bought separate from me, ADAMJets does not sell this.

Thus you can first design your aiport at low costs and when you think it is great and done, you order the ready-to-print CD.

Andy
