Love this airport. You really captured SXM well. I love watching planes land from the beach. Wouldn't that be wild, building "airport beach" along with the hut bar.

Nice work

There are 4 gates that have jetways, a large majority of the traffic is inter-island connections flown in commuter type aircraft and they will utilize the west end of the ramp (where the Eagle RJ is parked). The larger aircraft that will utilize the jetways on most days will never have more than 2 or 3 aircraft on the ground at the same time and will utilize the first three gates. The 4th gate where the CRL is parked will only be used when the other three are occupied. The parking area in front of the CRL is utilized for VIP general aviation, which in SXM is a real problem because there is no room to park private jets overnight at the airport, thus they are only allowed to pick up and drop off. I read an article while I was down there about how the VIPs like to have their airplanes close by at all times, but while staying in SXM, they have to park their airplanes at SJU or FLL.

There are these little yellow faces to the right when we make posts.....to convey the emotion of the post. You will notice I ended mine with a ...that there is a "wink"....and a which means Im just teasing him.

See, Im one of SteveJ's biggest fans. There are only 8 or so of us on here that make our own custom airports. He is one of the only reasons I keep coming here. Problem is, he cranks out too much....its almost ovewhelming! The guy is constantly posting pics of some new, great creation of his. I've ran out of ways to praise his work. So, I use a thing I use often: Sarcasm. I'm sure I didn't hurt Steve's feel-bad's.

Does this help you out? I hope so.

Ok, I think I see what your saying... So if something like a BBJ, or G5 flew in, and needed a space, they would pull ahead into the space and park there... And if a jet needed a gate, it would pull in behind it???

From observing the ramp while I was there, no aircraft remains on the ramp longer than 1 or 2 hours with exception of WinAir who is based there. If a GA was on that gate, I doubt if they would block it in, but it all depends on how long everyone is going to be parked. From what I was able to see, I doubt very much if that 4th jetway would be used more that once or twice a week.
