Default New Terminal at TNCM

These are just some test shots, waiting for the sun to come out...just completed. This is a model of the new terminal under construction at SXM, the plans were drawn up from a computer generated picture of the completed project. The terminal is cut out of cardboard with Evergreen plastic trim and smoke colored clear plastic windows. The ramp was painted with 4 different colored flat primers, yellow lines are painted on with Testors flat yellow and the white lines are plastic auto trim. Jetways are GJ fronts and Herpa rears. The perimeter fence was cut from a clear acrylic florecent ceiling cover. GSE is mostly DW. The whole thing cost about $100.00 and 2 weekends to make. 1/400 scale.

Some more shots..I used two different cameras and experimented with the settings, these shots were the best of the bunch..Wilma is passing by here right now and its a little too dark, will try again on Thurs with some better light.

Wow! Very nice detail. Is it 1/500?
I wish I could afford GSE like that.

Now we're talking! EXCEPTIONAL work! There are so many little things I love about it, the parking sapces for the buses, the clear fence, the individual aircraft parking pads, the dark sandstone finish on the the terminal roof. Alot of these things have already been incorporated in the making of Greater Las Vegas Metropolitain Airport. Again, EXCEPTIONAL job! The standard has been raised again!

You know, where the buses are parked I really have no idea what that area is used for, I suspect that is where the baggage from the numerous turbo's that are in and out of there all day long are placed for pick-up. I am also guessing that where the BBJ is parked is a private jet ramp area for VIP's since there are never more than 2 or 3 large aircraft on the ground at the same time with the exception of weekends. That jetway is most likely only used when all the others are occupied, anyway, thats the way the computer animation shows the ramp layout.
