Awesome model! This is the best instance of customizing the Herpa buildings that I've ever seen. Can't wait to see more pics!

I agree with Carlos, looks great. What did you use to make it look so unique?

If any of you had any clue, you would know that none of those are herpa buildings. Only the ones at each end of the concourse.

It's still a very nice illusion, though.

I tried using pieces of cut 1x4 and 2x4's but that was too heavy. I just folded cardboard into rectangles and used foam circles for the round halls. But yes, I just copied the art from the few Herpa buildings I have, on a flatbed printer. Used 60grit sandpaper for the roof. The tower is my favorite though. I cut a 20oz. coke bottle, spraypainted it white , then glued a row of windows and a roof to it.

It took about two weeks of spare time to complete to this point. Next time I will be pateint and spend more time squaring up the edges and corners.

one more blury pic, showing off a few imperfections.

So I see. No one would have guessed it was cardboard and foam circles. This is giving me some good inspiration to improve my airport. Also, very unique idea, never thought that something like a coke bottle can become a tower. Again, excellent job!

I won the mexicana 75 on ebay, I would not guess its rare cause I only paid 9.99 plus shipp. It is old Gen. Herpa, did not think anyone looked for that stuff anymore.
