I'am a newbie and would like to know whether the 1:500 or 1:400 scale is better for building a model airport..Secondly the airports accessories are mostly in 1:500 or 1:400?

I have spoken to a few members about this sort of thing. Some say that 1:400 models have better details on but if you were building an airport there would be less room for aircraft. Airport accessories are mainly 1:500 however you do get the odd set that is designed for 1:400 models. All the airport sets made by Herpa are 1:500. But that doesn't mean you can't alter the parts around to make it bigger so it looks like a 1:400 scale airport.
