Default Satellite Images

It's been a while since I last posted. I've modeled a few airports and recently I discovered Keyhole, a satellite image viewing program. It covers most of the US in detailed images. It is a wonderful program and I have collected placemarks of all the major airports in the US, most of them pretty detailed. If you are modeling an airport or just want to see an overhead view of one of your airports, just let me know and i'll get it for you. Here is an example of my hometown airport, Armstrong New Orleans Intl. This is not the best quality either! Any airport, just tell me which one, and even which terminal and you'll get some neat images of your target.

Here. I've added some images to show the power of this tool. This also offers 3D landscapes. My dad is a geologist at Tulane and studied many of the volcanoes in Mexico and uses this tool for exploring, he loves it. Here are some pictures of Mt. Saint Helens, It's completely 3D.

Here's the last one. It's almost real....

BTW I forgot to turn the roads off. You have the option of adding marks for dining, gas stations, national parks, police and fire stations, schools, stadiums, grocery stores- its just as good as mapquest. You can get driving directions and everything. I recently updated it to the new Google Earth Plus, basically the new name for Keyhole, like i said Google owns it.

Keyhole is one of the coolest satelite programs I have seen yet!

Love how you change angles on sights! If you look at ORD, you can see an ANA 777 departing over The Kennedy!

It is free, but it is not as pretty as Keyhole.
