Default Possible model airport.

I am currently working on an design for a model airport for a bar. I am thinking about using the bar it self as an runway and a taxiway. Planning on useing fiber optics to light the runway and the taxiway. At one of the ends of the taxiway will have a small ramp and an FBO with a hangar or two. All or most of this will be encased in wood sides and a plexi or acrylic glass top.

For the bar lights I plan to use actual runway lights I have but I need a transformer to break the 110v current to a 12v standard FAA reg current.

I also have acess to an runway sign, but I do not know what to do with it.

I have a few questions for some of the advanced members.
One is what is the best materials to use for the runway and taxiway?
Two, is what is a good place to look at FAA reg rnwy lighting? (when I scale, I will know where to put the lights.)

Thanks

Hi dark_reaper

It sound as a very good idea to build a bar as a model airport.
You will be able to invite some British Airways pilots over before they have to return home again

You will find all the information here about FAA lighting, markings and dimensions. The link is here:
FAA

Regarding the Runway and taxiways some collectors paint it by them self, but you can also buy foils -I use Pixelport the link to Pixelport is here:

Happy hour

try to use a safety yellow or just yellow paint marker. The width should be just perfect for the yellow lines for the taxi way. I would first draw strait lines with a pencil first.

thanks for the foils site.
