How about more accessories in 1/400 scale. Like buses, cars, trucks, vans, and GSE such as pushbacks, lav trucks, stair trucks, lower deck loaders, main deck loaders, tugs, belt loaders, hydrants, tankers, airstart, GPU, and LD-7 / LD-3 dollies. (And vehicles shouldn't be box shaped like the last release of 1/400 equipment)

1/400 jet bridges would be nice also.

I'm not such a big fan of 1:400, but I too think that there should be some accessories for 1:400. I also think that there sould be also some updated GSE for 1:500 especially the baggage belt loaders, they should be adjustable to fit 737 sized planes, also they should make a hotel, and a car rental thing, to add to this there should also be a gas station and maybe lighting, most of the things I've noted above, might be worked on right now, also the Deicing truck could also be done to adjust. I'm not sure if there is, but there should also be a lav truck if there is none for 1:500 GSE, other than that theres nothing else I could think of.

I also think there should be a hotel and a rent-a-car thing.

I would love a gas station. Most airports have them, usually for returning rental cars. A name brand like Shell would be nice.

A hotel , car rental and a gas station would be great. I'm planning for the making of my version of Manchester Airport (UK) and dirrectly infront of T1 there is a raddison hotel. Unfortunately there are no car rentals nearby but it wouldn't really matter if something was changed just as long as it looked good.

Yes, I searched via yahoo photos for a photo of the "IAD Mobile Transporter" .

What do you think about my idea for a new Airport Building ?

It is based on the Terminal at Manchester (NH) Airport - KMHT

It's fine for now. After i sent the address to you though i realized something. Her name wasn't Mandlein Angela. It was Angela Mandlein. What a thick S.H.I.T i am!! But the e-mail is still the same so that shouldn't matter too much!!! they could be very busy with new productions for all we know. I would give them another week or so and then try again if you haven't heard anything!! That's what i'm going to do anyway with the pictures i tried sending anyway.

A few months ago Herpa redisigned and made new busses in the 1:500 scale. They look a lot better than those in the airport accessories 1. (I love the older busses BTW) It would be great if they took the airport accessories 1-3, and re made them with more detail, just like they did with the busses. The catering trucks for example really need to be re-designed.

Also, like LOT 737-300 said, baggage belts should be better. Perhaps there should be 3 types of luggage belts. One with the belt down, another with the belt for small planes, and another one for bigger planes like the one that currently exists. This would look better for situations when the baggage belts are not in use. Baggage and cargo bulks to put on the accessories would also make things a lot more realistic.

It would be interesting if there were different colors for the accessories, perhaps one could choose between white accessories like the ones "GlobeGround" uses, or yellow, whatever people want according to their airport.

New fuel trucks sould be interesting. Instead of having the big ones that already exist, perhaps smaller ones, or the pumper trucks that pump the fuel out of the ground into the plane. And speaking of fuel, I agree with those that say there should be gas stations. In addition to that, there should be more "autobahns" with bridges that cross over each other.

They should also design different type of flood lights. The round ones they have are nice, but you can't put them beside the terminal. You need other type of flood lights for the terminals. Herpa should also consider making some vehicles for the hangars such as Man lifts, jacks, cranes, etc. Also, it would be cool if they threw in a few more plastic planes like the Citation in the Airport Accessories 3. This time they should throw in a Socata Tampico and a Gulfstream 5, for the general aviation section of our airports.

These are just a few ideas I have in mind. I'll post more as they come up.

Sandro

Sorry but I don't mean of any insultings or what but just my opnion....Why do model collectors use so much of money to BUY airport accessories?I suggest that they can make the accessories themselves.Just buy the material and make it.For example...A airport accessories was sold at about $45.00 for 20 pieces but if you buy the materials for $45.00 you can make more than 20 pieces of accessories,That's what I am doing now.(airport, accessories , jetways....)
I am just giving my opnion not insults so do forgive me for any offence done.

Don't worry, i'm not insulted but the reason i would prefer to buy instead of make is because i don't think i have the artistic skills to do something like that!!!

I think you can easily make that with Evergreen Plastics or something of that sort, can of spray paint (or normal paint), and a yellow paint marker for the lines.

I think herpa is currently working on more things around the airport, such as the swimming pool and houses we've seen earlier. I also think and hope they are developing new 1:500 gse.

Hi again,

Regarding Leadership's comment, I have to agree 50%. I would rather create a sort of "Gesamtkunstwerk" airport based on my own designs and ideas, but unfortunately details such as cars (The taxis with the little taxi sign on them for example), people, and the ground equipmente are hard to make, specially in the 1:500 scale. In my previous airport I made my own cars, and they were kinda crappy.

Big things such as buildings, bridges, hangars, the airfield itself, I think should be done by hand (And in my opinion, that's a great part of the hobby: Designing and building). On the other hand I would rather buy smaller details such as cars, people, ground equipment, etc.

Both elements combined together make up a great airport. What better than one's imagination and great small details? Just my opinion. Cheers!

Sandro

LIGHTS....more or less xeon lights, and also, the ICE trains/ shuttles. I like the buses, and also like the idea of a hotel, gas station, Hertz rental car, and a parkway/highway.

It's Ok there are many people in DAC where you can ask for information, just ask them for the measurements of 1:500 scale things or look for pictures of your idea then you can approximately tell the size which you are going to make.(e.g I have a 1:400 747 by DW,I looked at the picture and found out that the 3rd and 4th engines were just right above the edge of the taxi and runway,so I measured and found the measurement about 6.5cm. With this length I am able to make the runway.)

Talking about lights I have some problems with that and might want to know if you can help me.I find that normal light bulbs are too big for the runway even for the smallest size I can find. But what should I use?
