Hi Fazeman, nice airport you have there! I like how you combined Herpa buildings on eztoys foils, it's original. I also like to see two Tristar in a picture! Keep up the good work, Ciao!

Hi Ciao, I enjoyed viewing your airport (I think we have the same thing in common) and your scheduled flight photos. Unique idea. Steve

Hi Mark, As per our earlier email, thanks for the compliments. You have a great photo display (angle city) and I look forward to viewing the continued progress on the first oncourse to you main terminal. I'll be posting a few pictures in a week or so that adds a nice twist for us Piedmont/Eastern fans. Steve

Hi Freddie, Thanks for the compliment. I had the Eztoy sectional mats dry mounted to gator board (very light). I figured it was the only way to give that part of the diorama a clean appearance. It's also portable so I can take it to shows. Steve

Hi Malcolm, Thankyou for welcoming me to DAC and for your compliments on the airport. I am and will continue to check out your airport. To begin with, your airport is awesome!!! It is major in size, it is clean and very unique. Size does matter especially when it comes to accompanying infrastructure. Eztoyz has beautiful mats but they are very restrictive when it comes to basic airport services. I really won't be able to expand until the fledgeling 400 scale ready-made mats/foils and buildings are produced. I like your hotel and parking ramp with advertisements. It adds color and dimension. Your blue terminal is very modernistic. How did you build it? Steve

Hi Aeronautic, As soon as Herpa came out with the terraces, I had to use them for the whole terminal roof. The dark color adds contrast and that is what I was looking for. As per my earlier response to your spectacular airport, you did a great job with the building colors and the use of the glass jetways. The detail to your work is amazing. My focus is on retro jets of the '70s. I will eventually post more pictures. On Saturday, I will be posting pictures of a display I had last spring at the central library in my area. It focused on airline memorbilia of the '70s/early '80s. Look under the Miscellaneous - "Off Topic" section of our forum. Steve

Fazeman, I see we have the same taste in retros! Reminds me of my first trip to JFK in 1990....all the Meatballs and T-Dubs! The placement of Your TWA L-1011's in the 3rd pic reminds me alot of LAX Terminal 3 in the early '90's. Let us share a beer at the Lisbon Lounge in T-Dub's Terminal 5 JFK!!!

Dylan,
You're right! JFK was on my mind when setting up the diorama. The retros of this time period are my favorite (Go to Off Topic and check out my thread on Airline Memorabilia of the '70s and early '80s). Tell you what! While we're at Terminal 5, I'll get us passes to the Ambassador Club (I'll pay the first round) so we can discuss Ezra Stoller's TWA Terminal, your fantastic San Diego Int'l. Airport in progress and Hunter S. Thompson's book, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. I saw an interview on PBS with Thompson and Charlie Rose after he passed away.
