new airport project

Hello,

I've been researching an airport project for about 4 months. I finally got started on the actual building this past week. I am working on a true 1:500 scale model of an airport whose location will be Sion, Valais, Switzerland. The planned terminal building will support intercontinental and European traffic, and it will service nearby resorts such as Zermatt, Verbier, and Crans-Montana. I plan to have 4 gates large enough to support B747/A340; the opposite side of the building will service smaller planes B737 (5 gates), etc. I plan to light the airport with fiberoptics, adjacent to the terminal will be a cargo facility and hangar.

I've just started my first airport project. I'm doing 1:400 scale. Will start to post photos once there's something worthy of showing.

Thanks for your comments guys.

I hope to have apron, taxiways, and runway done by the end of the week. I will probably work on a terminal building next, followed by fiberoptic lighting (that part will likely take a while).

Here are some new photos. I used Chartpak graphic tape (made in Leeds, MA) for the taxiway lanes. I've got a long way to go, but I'm planning on using no pre-fab/Herpa at all.
