Question Run way number

I'm buliding my airport but I have some questions about the number of the run way. If the number on one side of the run way is "05", then on the other side is "05" too? If the answer is not.
Had anyone can tell me how to deside the number? Beside the
function of identification, had another meaning about the number? Thanks a lot!

Cool

I think the runway numbers are headings on the compass. But don't quote me on that. And no, the number on the other side isn't the same. For example, my local airport (Osaka/Itami)'s longest runway is 14R/32L. The other one, running parallel, is 14L/32R.

You are correct. The runway numbers ARE the compass headings. Heathrow for example has 27L/09R or 09L/27R depending on the direction from which you are landing.

If the runway number on one side is 5, the other side will be 13.
It is not allowed to put a "0" before a number!

The other guys are correct. 05 means the heading of the runway is 50 degrees . So on the opposite end of the runway you face backward or 180 degrees turn , it is 230 degrees , so the runway label should be 23. Your runway is 05R/23L or 05L/23R ( sorry I dont know what R and L means ).

The other side should be 23.

sorry, I correct myself:
when one side is 5, then it means 50 degreas, this means the other side must be 310 degreas = 31!

L = Left, R = Right, C = Center

Super easy way to do it. Take the rwy number you want and add 18 to it.
ie: 2+18=20=rwy 2/20
5+18=23=rwy 5/23
14+18=32=rwy 14/32

50 is not 210, sorry, 13 = 31, as the field I am learning to fly at, its RWY's are 13/31.

050 is 230, so, RWY's 5/23

Correct. The runway numbers are the headings on the compass.
