Default Corgi B-25J Mitchell "Heavenly Body" AA35301

Never really reviewed one of my favorite models, the Corgi B-25J "Heavenly Body" (AA35301). Love this model, Corgi did a wonderful job on it. The "Heavenly Body" regularly appears during air shows so this does have some sentimental value to me since I got to see it in person. Plus I believe it has the best livery among all the Corgi B-25s.

An interesting note: In April 1992, Heavenly Body was the first B-25 in 50 years to fly from the deck of an aircraft carrier, the USS Ranger in San Diego Bay. That event was to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Doolittle's flight of 16 B-25 aircraft from the Navy Carrier, USS Hornet (CV-8), on April 18th 1942 to bomb Japan for that country's attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941. (I will later post another thread for the Doolittle B-25 which I recently got).

Corgi's B-25 mould is excellent. The Heavenly Body has all the bells and whistles of a B-25J model. Even the interior bomb bay detail is pretty good so I highly recommend picking up a Corgi B-25 model if you haven't already. My only grip is the stand which stands out since it's like a "claw" holding the model. I just wished Corgi made more B-25s

Definitely with Tony on this one, fantastic livery This is the type of scheme which looks great on a diecast model.

It's a nice change to see SuperKungFu post WW2 models as opposed to the usual modern day jets
