Bravo!

I'd kill for some 1/72 wheels down British/Irish commuter planes (I'd go retro though - Loganair Twotter & any one of a dozen 330s/360s - Manx, Aer Lingus, Genair, Loganair, BMA, RMSS ).

My Dad was planning to convert an Airfix Skyvan but that plan has come to nought.

Very true.

I've made the point about composite models on other forums - if collectors can accept large quantities of plastic nothing is impossible - Ultimate Soldier churned out those 1/18 models for acceptable prices and the modular contruction makes them easy to store - I have suggested they'd make a killing by making a 1/72 Herk in all the colours of the rainbow using plastic.

Great post. I'd really love to see a lot of those already mentioned, especially these in 1/72:

RA-5C Vigilante
S-3 Viking would sell like crazy
F/A-18F
E-2 Hawkeye
EA-6B Prowler
F-4 Wild Weasel

After completing the Century Fighters series, I'd vote for the X-Century fighters - F-103, F-107, F-108, F-109...

I also agree with many others that a 1:72 Vigilante is a great idea.

You know that Hogan has produced a very nice 1/200 S-3, right? I have one and it's a beauty.

I've seen it and been tempted, but I have to stick to one scale or things could get out of control.

One per month was my plan on the 1/72. I have 13 so far, and it's only been a month. Most from the Flying Mule sale. Many I wouldn't have gotten, I ordered just so I would have a better understanding of the manufacturers, plus they were complimentary to my plans after seeing ChairmanMilo's collection, and how he grouped them together in themes.

Most are regrettably still in the boxes. I guess I'll break out the table saw, because I am too cheap to buy a real display case. Dark stain with lots of wood putty everyone will be too distracted by the contents to notice my abhorent carpentry skills. I like the glass block and plank method used by one of the patrons of The Mule, but I'm concerned about dust.

I know how that is, but you restrict yourself to mid-sized and smaller aircraft. Nobody is going to make a 1/72 B-52, or P-3, or C-17. Well, if they do it will be horrendously expensive...and friggin' HUGE. So that being said, I've found that I can live with 1/144 and 1/200 in order to get some of the bigger beasties. The S-3 could be made in 1/72, but I think that will be many years down the road...and the one Hogan makes is great for the time being. The P-3 is pretty awesome, too.

my future purchase in 1/200 scale will be reserved for exclusively big aircrafts and that wont be that much though....I think the biggest military aircraft would be a C-5B, KDC-10 and a B-52...and the rest could be much smaller like S-3 Viking, Hawkeye and some other cargo planes.....thus, saves space...

For now...no diecast manufacturer is going to make these...but there are great detailed plastic kits that these models (and many others) are available in (incl. the B1 Lancer).
Hiring a good skilled modeller to build them....you can have a unique model in your collection....
That's what I'm planning to do...starting off with the KC-135...

Early/Mid-Cold War Carrier-based 1/72 (HM, CW or Witty):
Rafale M
Etendard
S-3
E-3
EB-66/A-3
Martin Mauler
A-2 Savage
AF-2 Guardian
F3 Demon
F4 Skyray
F-7 Cutlass!!
F11F Tiger!!!
RA-5
Supermarine Scimitar
OA-4 (Argentine training Scooter)
TA-4F
A-4C (in Arg livery)

Plenty of opportunities here for a robust series of models, though I can't speak to the market demand. Imagine CW moving back in time to produce the USN marks listed above, instead of releasing their back catalog in 1/144 (and then 1/200, 1/350 , and finally 1/700).

No lack of ground-based topics from this era, either. If we must be current, a proper V-22 Osprey could be a real show-stopper. There's also a lot of ground to cover in 1/144, such as B-45, B-47, B-57, B-58, Backfire, Blinder, Badger, etc. An Ekranoplan/WIG would be pretty awesome as well.

Of course, my wife and family would probably prefer that none of these models ever come to light, but one can dream...

Right this very moment I would very much like the CWHM to release a CF-100 in 1:72.

I'd buy every release like I bought both of their Avro Arrows.

That's about it other than maybe some F-15I and F-16I action from Hobby Master. That'll probably happen in the distant future though.

Let's not forget the WP/USSR fleet, especially MiG-17, -19, -23, -25 and Su-15,-17,-19,-22,-24. That's just scratching the surface. I appreciate the plethora of Mig-15s from HM, and the MiG-21s from both HM and Corgi (same mold, I believe) are quite nice, but some branching out would be great.

I'd like to see HM tackle these two:

In 1/72 I'd like

F-35 Lightning II
Eurofighter (an improvement on the offerings currently available)
WAH-64D Longbow
Merlin HC-3
MH-47
CV/MV 22 Osprey
OH-58D Kiowa
A-10 greys ... I've come in to 1/72 late and greys seem to be out of favour at the moment in favour of the two tone greens

SoloTurk's F16
F1614 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

The Belgian Demonstration Team's F-16 is pretty special, though the livery may be a challenge
F169 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

But I'd also like these ...

A400M in 1/200
A330 MRTT in 1/200
KC-10 Extender in 1/200
C-17 Qatar Emiri Air Force in 1/200

My list could go on and on

TOGA, can you be a little more specific?

Here's a KC-10: Model Airplane: SkyMarks 1:200 US Air Force KC-10 McGuire AFB New Colors

This one needs some dull-coat, but otherwise is very nice: Aviation 200 | KC-10 USAF 40186 McGuire AFB 1/200 | AV2KC1002

Probably more on your list available, but I'm new to 1/200. I love the white AV200 KC-10.

It's scary to see how many of you guys think like me! Maybe we're all crazy.

Here's what I've been pitching to the manufacturers ( not that my opinion counts ).

1/200:
C-141A Early polished aluminum fuselage
C-141B
B-47 Again, polished aluminum fuselage
P-2 Neptune
B-36 Peacemaker

1/72:
B-58 Hustler Of course, polished
RA-5 Vigilante
S-3 Viking
E-2C Hawkeye
EA-6B Prowler
T-38 Talon
T-37/ A-37 Tweetie Bird
C-123 Provider
AC-47 Puff The Magic Dragon

That's a Start!

I would love to see corgi do a victor and vulcan in 1:72, what a pair they would be. I know they would be massive, and expensive but they would be worth it! If corgi limited them to say 1500 each, and charged roughly the same as they charge for a lancaster, they would do well I think
Also, a 1:72 C-130 would be lovely

Ohhhh, let's see. prefered modellers would be either Corgi, Falcon, Hobby Master, or Witty.
All in 1:72nd scale.

Canadian stuff.
Avro CF-100 mk. V Canuck (Black),
Canadair CF-116A/D Freedom Fighters,
Canadair CT-114 Tutor (Golden Centenaires livery),
McDonnell F-2H3 Banshee for Canadian Navy.
Corgi does an awesome DeHavilland Vampire, I'd love to have one with Canadian markings for my collection.

American
North American A-5A Vigilante,
Cessna A-37B Dragonfly
Grumman EA-6B Prowler
Northrop/McDonnell Douglas YF-23 Black Widow II

Russian and Ex-Warsaw Pact
Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-23/27 Flogger,
Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-25 Foxbat,
Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-31 FoxHound,
Sukhoi SU-15TM Flagon F,
Sukhoi SU-17/22 Fitters,
Sukhoi SU-24 Fencer,
Sukhoi SU-25 Frogfoot
Chengdu J-10A, Vigorous Dragon
Nanchang Q-5 Fantan.

I'd really love for Gaincorp to re-release it's line of SU-34 Fullback and JH-7A Flounder.
...And, I'm dying for when Aviation 72, FINALLY releases those two Saab models, the Draken & Viggen.
Oh yes, I want a Gripen, too.
