Maybe it's too early to tell, but since some of the 1/18 21st Century were retailing sometimes at 30 bucks in supermarkets across the US, I am not sure what's the upgrade to make these new (larger) models much more expensive.

Of course that discounted price was not a fair reflection of the production cost for the models, but still, people got used to them, and even at 50 bucks, it would be hard to ask the same collectors to pay 4 times as much for a similar plastic model.

That said, I am looking forward to it and hope it will be around US$150 or less, but it may be wishful thinking.

Wow! I can think of only one word: MASSIVE!

I love the FLANKER and have for years, and will definitely look at one of these for my collection and make room for it. I have been waiting for something larger than 1/72 for years. I am somewhat surprised Franklin Mint haven't done an Su-27 in 1/48 scale for their 'Armor Collection'. Or is that coming...?

I would love to collect some of JSI's F/A-18's... and maybe their F-16 too... I'd hang them from the ceiling w/fishing line haha... old school... These 2 new ones look great, but I second the hope that their price hovers around $150... I imagine a lot of the cost is just the actual space they take up in shipping...

I've seen the 1/18 "J-11BS" (Su-27UBK) sample at the HK toy fair and the sample is beautiful, and enormous, maybe around 1.5 metres length *may be exaggerating a bit or not. The release date? nothing concrete, but most likely not within 2010 (WTF?) according to JSI reps. Will try to speak to them again to see what else they are cooking, heard one more modern Russian airframes

Word of advice for JSI, don't weather the aircraft!!!!!!!! What is a fine model, the F-14, has lost its appeal due to a poor weathering job that did not need to be done. This model should have been a sell out and there are still plenty available at retailers. If you buy it, it needs to be repainted which defeats the purpose of paying this amount of money for a model that should be display ready. JSI.....Don't make the same mistake again!

I agree, i have two f14 models in 1/48 one of them has the JOLLY RODGERS scheme on it and i noticed the spots on the JSI version. Looks like some of the schemes the germans put on me109's and fw's..in wwII. what a shame, its a beautiful model otherwise..
