These photos were posted here on DAC forum by phantom4444, anyway from the heavy overspray it looks like the first production run. And yes, this is AF1.
Models from AF1 are often coated with light oil on many surfaces from the factory - probably if you wash the model in lukewarm water or swab it with by alcohol or even with soft cloth only, you´ll get more matte surface.

About a month ago I commissioned this kit build, asked if he was able to do the split camo and then the HM announcement came out buuuuut I think this just may beat the HM.... with added PE

However I have a question.
After watching all the pic released from HM & photo of SU35 real thing and using ruler on my PC screen.
I just feel that the nose is too short comparing to the cockpit?
tow ways of my comparing: (A2=B2=length of cockpit ; A1= length of radar cone ; B1= length of nose)
1. A1:A2
2. B1:B2 (the ratio of real thing is ~1:1 but HM's is smaller than 1)
two methods seems sowed that the nose & radar cone is too short for this model??
Does any one get my point? Sorry for the poor illustration...
Honestly - no, I didn´t catch your point. Too scientific for me, sorry
But maybe you could make simple Photoshop comparison to better see whats wrong in your opinion?
Here is the latest SU-35 image from Hawkone´s site, below I´m sending you hi-res "blank" SU-35 image of HM prototype, just for the case...
And at the bottom you´ll find my photoshopped image from one of my previous posts....
Re: Hobby Master Sukhoi Su 35 HA5701 (prototype photos)
It is nice of HM to announce their future releases. But if they are releasing the same type of planes then they should spread the releases further apart. Otherwise, it would hurt their market.
For example, I was dying to get hold of the Belenko MiG-25P. But before the plane could reach our shore, they are announced the release of the Iraqi MiG-25. So I have cancelled my plan to acquire the Belenko plane.
Likewise, before 5701 is out in the market, they already announce the 5702 model. I bet if they had not done so, RW would have bought 5701 and when 5702 comes out later, he may consider getting that too.

there are only so many schemes hm can do for the su35 airframe so it's a matter of time before monsieur rw gets his preferred model. he may have gotten both... but only if he likes both. or he may decide to forego his preferred model if he already had the 5701. this dilemma always happens when considering operational history/camo/airframe preferences. you may have preferred the story behind the iraqi jet over the defector's... whilst others may have quite the opposite preference. see how calwing announces a whole series of to be released tomcats...
Re: Hobby Master Sukhoi Su 35 HA5701 (prototype photos)
The problem I have is that I already have AF1 Red 08 prototype. I got it last year because I never thought HM would go as far as they have with the Russian types. I only have so much room in my four display cases!!!
Re: Hobby Master Sukhoi Su 35 HA5701 (prototype photos)
In this particular case is everything correct, BB. There´s really a difference in shape of rear part of canopy between "902" prototype (which is on your first image) and production operational SU-35s (as on your "HM artwork" picture).
From what i understand, HM will make HA5701 "902" with correct rear part of the canopy and then they will modify the mold to make correct canopy shape for operational HA5702 SU-35S.
(Similar with two "L" shaped antennas behind the canopy. "902" prototype has them present - and they will also be correctly made on HA5701. Then HM will modify the mold to omit these antennas on HA5702 and following operational SU-35s, that are without these antennas.)
To su27flanker:
Still looking forward to your comments whether HM nose cone length is correct or not in your opinion. And btw. - welcome to the forum!

This all GREAT NEWS. They are very active in responding to our observations, making for a better model.
Re: Hobby Master Sukhoi Su 35 HA5701 (prototype photos)
Had a conversation with William, and we agreed the model should have at least two bomb marks and a red star behind the canopy, just like Red 06 posted earlier.
Re: Hobby Master Sukhoi Su 35 HA5701 (prototype photos)
[QUOTE=Ladia;2427913]Several images here .
So what you think - is the nose & radar cone shorter or not?
To Ladia: Thanks a lot for touching William so we all will have a most beautiful SU model in the market.
The shape & length of nose/radar cone looks all good from the newest photo.
The newest model hugely improved the nose/radar cone which I care mostly.
Great job HM!
For the future, hope HM will do the sea flanker SU-33!!!! Definitely No1. in the wanted list!

I bought the KAIDIWEI 685001 J-5 because I couldn't find a Russian version (which I don't think exists, but I'm sure someone here can correct me.
Re: Hobby Master Sukhoi Su 35 HA5701 (prototype photos)
Hi.
I'm certain HM is open to reasonable suggestions so if you think there is something that really needs correcting I would suggest letting them know, not just posting here. info@hobbymaster.com.hk

Thanks for info, Mikael. If I personally could choose whether to buy "05" or "06" HM Syria Flankers, I would prefer "06" because of more bomb marks. The bomb marks speak action.

I didn't know there was a difference - haven't seen any pictures/diagrams. 06 is better. Maybe HM could do an 06-type as a later model.

Re: Hobby Master Sukhoi Su 35 HA5701 (prototype photos)
It was reported back in January 2016, four Su-35S were flown to Syria from the airfield Privolzhskiy (Astrakhan region) along with a passenger aircraft Tu-154 of the VKS of Russia (registration number RA-85042).
The four planes have the board numbers "Red 03", "Red*04", "Red*05"and "Red*06" (serial numbers 02517, 02518, 02619, and 02620, respectively). As you can see from photos, the planes are equipped with ECM pods on their wingtips. Those are L-265M10 pods, which are part of the*L-175M10-35S "Khibiny-M" plane EW protection system.*
The leader of a group of Su-35S is “Red 05” (RF-95815) followed by “Red 06” (RF-95816).
It can be seen "Red 05" is mounted with AKU-170 launchers. AKU-170 is the launchpad for one of the most advance medium-range air-to-air missile: the R-77 (RVV-AE) (Nato:AA-12 Adder).
Each Su-35 can carry up to 12 R-77.
Just hope HM will provide the R-77 air-to-air missiles and the wingtip L-265M10 ECM pods.
Re: Hobby Master Sukhoi Su 35 HA5701 (prototype photos)
CORRECTION:
The correct AKU-170 launcher.
Vympel R-77: With a weight of 175 kg (with the R-77), a length of 3.6 meters, a diameter of 200 mm, the widest wingspan of 350 mm, the R-77 missiles reach Mach 4 maximum speed and use Liquid fuel.

Yep, Tim, this my best-loved airplane and absolutely awesome colors.
I've envied you your Flanker for too long time, my good fellow , but now my/our patience will be hopefully rewarded!
But still I envy you your wonderful SU-30SM Code3, as Syria SU-30SM is my second best-loved airplane in most beautiful colors .

The lettering on Vympel missiles is so visible that it would be worth stenciling - what´s your opinion?
Even companies like AVIC / Terebo or no-name producers gave stenciling to missiles on their low-cost models:
