Default Plastic glove vanes on WW F-14

I have a Witty JR F-14, Final Cruise release and it has plastic glove vanes that don't sit evenly - one points upward, another downward, etc.. Anyone have a similar issue with this or any other model?
The vanes bend easily, but always return to their original position. Is there a way to harden the plastic, after one has positioned them horizontally?

Try running them under hot water. Once fixed the way you want while warm. Hit it with cold water to get it to stay that way. Works for pitot tubes.
