Hi guys,
sorry to ask here, but is it just me, or the other diecast forum, the ...aviation.eu, is down?
I cannot see any posts there, I cannot log-in, registrations has been disabled by the administrator....does anyone know what´s going on?

But sometimes good information, especially about the modifications.
BTW how was your flight?

Yes, indeed. Sometimes good information. Sorry for being snarky

If you are asking about my flight, thank you! all very good. 3 days of heavy travel, but back home now. i had flown commercially to germany as my wife had a conference and I was going to use the opportunity to do a favor for a friend who wanted a flight review (I keep my flight instructor certificate current) and who needed to reposition his aircraft. Long story short, the aircraft was not available as he had hoped so i found myself all day saturday while my wife was at a conference with nothing to do, so i drove to speyer where i saw the interesting though somewhat unprofessional museum there.

To wilkinss77:
I see there just "If this is your first visit....", but no posts, no threads.
Can you confirm that you can really see all the posts?

To FortunateSon:
Not far from Speyer there is even bigger museum in Sinsheim, in fact Speyer is daughter museum of Sinsheim, but of course, you might need days and days for these museums. Next time...

Yes, I thought about going to sinsheim the same day (i had time), but I was not so impressed with speyer so I decided to give it a miss.

i mean, their 'blue angels' f-4 phantom outdoor exhibit was painted PURPLE in a semi-nonsense scheme!

I have been around aviation museums for a long time. Speyer has many many problems that I could complain about (lack of context, terrible environmental security for exhibits, poor general conservation, some laughably amateur exhibits), it does do something that for example british museums wouldn't do: it basically admits that they're just machines. i will always remember how i visited the deutsches museum in munich once and saw the one of a kind U-1 submarine cut open with its innards open for all visitors to see and admire. This is something that would basically never happen in england on one-of-a-kind items due to some sense of keeping them "intact." A friend of mine is a historian and when I suggested that just one of the many insignificant castles throughout england be restored from stones to something approaching what it may have been like in medieval times he was aghast.

the good news is that speyer/sinnseim have very nice hardcover museum books. well written and comprehensive. buying these is almost as good as going to the museum.

blue angels:

presumably this is how it arrived to them (basically correct)

i was not able to find a picture of just how purple it has become as i think they painted it a bad color which has since become more purple, but this gives an idea:

terrible!

on the plus side, the other f-4 looked surprisingly good

Thanks for info! Maybe there´s some problem in my comp then. I´ll try from different machine.

To FortunateSon:
Well, frankly speaking, even Sinsheim reminded me something between museum and theme park. Mixed types and ages of aircrafts, too much figurines all around. But lot of interesting showpieces.

Can I translate this so as you have something common with ...aviation.eu?
If yes, can you please check what´s going wrong? (So far no communication).
Can I send you PM?
Thanks, Ladia.

Actually...as usual, thats bull.

I was allowed to join personally through a series of emails. This was initiated by me when he unknowingly allowed me to join.

Before I posted my first post, I emailed to let him know it was me. We then came to an agreement to allow me to post, with restrictions.

A day later he banned me. In addition whilst all this was going on he posted on DAF warning the moderators about banned members rejoining.

So he lied and was duplicitous and now he is punishing the Hobby and potential members of DAF to cover up his appalling behaviour.

Why he has restricted access, well clearly its a result of a bit paranoid overreaction to a situation created for himself.

This time I would suggest there will be no denial like the last set of lies about me by the administrator and moderators of DAF....because I have the emails to prove my case.

This is all and his dishonesty and to be frank this is mouse like behaviour to cover up his mouse like integrity.

If you want to lie...thats fine, but you should have asked if there was any evidence before being their spokesman. That way you don't look as pathetically small as him.

Anyone want the email traffic....just send me your email address and I will forward them on.

no need to worry, there are many forums out there no one needs DAF in particular

G'day, PBRS, Christian, Old Faithful, Jeez Louise or whoever you are today. As one of those members who has been banned and tried to rejoin DAF using another name you must be aware that it is not bull. It's not all about you either. There has been a growing threat and despite the efforts mentioned to prevent it, DAF has suffered a cyber attack is down this morning. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Your persecution complex and refusal to follow forum rules has already resulted in you being banned from at least two forums. It really is time that you gave it up.

Wrong again...I was banned from DAF for defending myself after being accused for lying. You were part of that charming episode. So stop saying I did not follow Forum rules....I am sure you will ignore that context as well as you always have done.

And as usual, you ignore the meat of my post (which is your MO throughout the entire affair) and revert to name calling. I was specifically referring to Daran and his charming behaviour. I guess I was speaking swahili.

I have never hid or tried to disguise who I am, on anysite......the day I joined here I noted that I was Christian....so stop putting a sinister twist on my choice of names.....disgraceful man. The reason why you knew I was Old faithful, is because I told Daran....fool!!

By the way....lads the charming fellow who just posted for the first time is a moderator of DAF.

Go figure!!

Is this forum still active ? I've never come across it, there are many forums that don't appear in google search for diecast forums.

Interesting read some of this is, I swear the tone of one persons posts in this thread sound very farmilar recently.

I believe that one of our posters was banned from several forums after the management concluded that he was a hobby master schill, for trolling other collectors, and for just being dishonest in general.

As for the other forum - subject of this thread, yes it is still active and all one does is enter "diecast aircraft forum" into Google search. Of course DA.C comes up first and the very top forum of DA.C is 1:200 scale model aircraft. The other forum appears just below as the second search result.
