Default New Version of Corgi RCAF Lancaster VR-A

Confirmation from the CWHM today that their attempts to have Corgi do an exclusive run of VR A are accurate.

......" For the upcoming tour of England, CWH has commissioned Corgi to produce........

an exclusive limited production run of 1/72 VR-A Lancasters. Different
than the original one as this one is to replicate the original VR-A, not
the restored beast. So has skinny props, baffles on engine, blister on
top, different turret, proper markings, etc. It's on the water now and
is being delivered to the UK. Will be available from the merchandise
trailer accompanying the Lanc while on tour. If any left, they will be
made available in Canada and online....."

Saw a whole container load of these models with the CWH sales trailer at East Kirkby, where the worlds' third taxiable Lancaster lives. They had stacks of these models, being sold from the trailer wherever the CWH Lancaster is appearing here in the UK. Saw her arrive at Coningsby earlier this month.

Nanton, Alberta has a Lancaster that is taxiable as well. Or at least they do regular engine run ups on her.

I think it's only fair that the Lanc based in England returns the favour and tours Canada with VR-A next summer.

Hello all,
I received a phone call from the CWHM Gift Shop today telling me that the Corgi Lancasters were in. Yup, you read that correctly.

The last time I spoke to them, they stated that the leftovers from the UK trip would arrive in October, if any were left.

Anyway, they received 600 of the 1200 unit run. They are now in Canada.
If you had a pre-order, you have probably already received your phone call.

Cost was $199.99 CDN, or $226 CDN with HST included.

To get my two, I turned down three. One with a bent tail fin and two with paint issues. They were really great about letting me inspect before buying.

Anyway, good to see Canadians will now be able to enjoy a quality VeRA diecast.

Visited the CWHM today to pick up my VRA Lancaster. The staff was opening boxes of Lanc's for shelf display. Said they got about 600 total. Many are still available as of today. They allowed me to open, inspect and choose the one I wanted. They were very good that way. The six I opened two had paint defects including off centre vertical stabs and the third the vertical stab was broken off. Looked like a bad factory glue job that could be fixed with a bit Elmer's white glue making it as good as new.

Overall very happy with my purchase but if you visit the museum make sure you open and inspect before you purchase. Mail orders will be luck of the draw. Appears to be some quality control issues at Corgi.
