Default HM F-5E USAF, 58 TFTW, Luke AFB HA3314

This one just landed in my collection, she joins up with the rest of my SEA collection. This is the first F-5 HM has made in the SEA scheme - it will be a very popular release.

This particular aircraft was part of the 425th Squadron of the 58th Tactical Fighter Training Wing in 1974 and was stationed at Luke AFB. I really like this model and I know this would be a quick seller so get it while you can. Here's some pictures:

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!

You waiting for a Vietnam vet, too? I want either that or an RVN version, bare or camo.

Very nice SKF. Thanks for posting.

I agree... it should be a very popular release. When will it show up at North American retailers?

I noticed no pics with the LGBs attached. Was the plane even capable of delivering those, even with a designator aircraft lazing the target?

Well, I would pull the trigger on that one. Requires a new mold if HM ever consider making it. TBH I'm saving my money for other models. HM F-15 is what I'm really looking forward to. Vietnam era Weasel would be good too.

Although the model comes with those bombs, I chose not to load them since that's a very unconventional load. I think they were only dummies or used for transport, never in real operation. At least that's what I recall.

Yeah, I had forgotten how much different the Freedom Fighter was from the Tiger II...I don't know that HM would spring for an entirely new mould for essentially the same aircraft. The only problem with the F-5E was that it was mostly used by foreign nations, the US didn't fly them much except as combat trainers.

As far as I know...during the cold war, the F-5 was mainly developed and build for export to friendly western countries and also made affordable

This thing popped up at the FlyingMule, but if I am not mistaken, it took only a week for it to be sold-out from their website.

As of the time I shared this link here, it does say sold-out "discontinued". So I think it sure is a famous variant of the F-5E!

I'm glad I got one early by pre-ordering from the Mule. (arrived 2 days ago) It's already up to $75 at Pete's.

Pete's Collectibles - Item Display

I would think some of the other retailers still have it at retail price, but not for long.

Red 23 will probably go quickly as well.

I looked at his site too and saw his listing. The price of 75 dollars sure meant alot when it comes to the desireability of this aircraft.

This sure is a beauty. Too bad it's basically sold out. I wonder if we'll be seeing it on eBay for $200+ in a couple months' time.
