Postage from Flying Mule via USPS (USA- Sydney Australia)
I ordered few models from the Flying mule the other week, this was my biggest purchase at any one time, so I know the parcel would be a lot bigger than my normal one or two order from the Mule. However, unlike any other purchase with the mule.. this time USPS sent the model via ARGENTINA,is this correct? this never happens before.. :S Anyone living in Sydney knows anything about this????
Thanks
Michael

Re: Postage from Flying Mule via USPS (USA- Sydney Australia)
Hmm I've never noticed. I'll check when I get my next order. Even if it did, I don't see that is a major issue, plus I've always selected 14 day shipping and get it a few days before that so I'm happy with the mules shipping. I think they have the fairest OS shipping of them all.
I've been quoted $60 for 2 models from the US by other retailers, the latest package from the mule was $38 for 5 models, I guess they have a good arangement with USPS

Never noticed it to be honest but like the above post i tend to get most deliveries within the 14 day delivery time from the order being sent. If it goes via Argentina, France or Russia i don't mind.

Thats good to know that it has happened before, because this is the first time that this happens to me, because on other occasion from San Francisco it arrives immediately in Australia.
And yes I'm pretty happy with the service of Flying Mule and its postage, couldn't complain for their work.

I would chalk it up to their markup on prices, not any special rate with USPS.
Any model retailer says it costs $60 for Priority Air to Australia for 2 models is ripping people off.

It depends more on size than weight. I was quoted $380 USPS to ship a guitar from eastern US to Sydney. I know... big size and weight difference, but still, that was outrageous.

Fortunately our models are not the size and shape of guitars.

I've bought a coup;e of times from "The Mule" and I agree that his shipping costs are very reasonable.
How did you know that your parcel went via Argentina. I'm in Adelaide and I always work on 2 weeks for delivery from the U.S.
Most models I buy are from Hong Kong and I find their postage costs to a lot cheaper.
I also collect 1:18 diecast cars and typically U.S. suppliers quote $48 -$55 for shipping and won't combine models into one lot. Therefore every cars costs $50+ more by the time shipping costs get added in.

Buying from the mule, they'll give you a link to USPS Tracking system.. where you parcel will be track.. every time it passes a major checkpoint.

Yeah, Thats what I'am worried about, this is the first time that it bypass Argentina... I'am not sure if it was an accidental thing or a change in route. Does anyone have any clue on how I can confirm this? :/

Re: Postage from Flying Mule via USPS (USA- Sydney Australia)
Well Turns out that USPS "accidently" sent the Parcel from the mule to Argentina D: And that Argentina has sent it out on Monday according to Australia Post with their tracking... Its very frsutrating! Been over two weeks and they are not sure if the parcel is going back to the USA or Sydney Has anyone experience this before? If so, what happened?

Man, that sucks. Does international shipping with USPS come with insurance? That way if the package is lost, at least you should be able to get a % or full refund.

The Mule does so much business with UPS that I'm sure they will take care of it. Have you talked to Matt or Eric about this? If not, it wouldn't hurt to get them involved.
UPS Intl is usually very professional as well, even if the package isn't insured. They are very diligent about customer service. Since they admitted their mistake, it sounds to me like they know where it is.
Try not to get frustrated. It doesn't help, and there's not much you can do other than have a shot of bourbon and wait patiently. Just think how much you'll cherish this once it gets there. I used to get so frustrated in traffic and at airports. One day I realized these petty problems aren't worthy of my valuable time or emotion. When I do get upset, I just pop in the DVD of "Office Space". Everything gets better.

Yeahhh you guys are right. I have contacted the mule about this and they have contacted USPS and said that the item is on its ways to AUSTRALIA now and its on the right track. Thats true Skinner, I'am trying my best to be patients and I hoped the HM RAAF F-111 in it will be while worth it And to add up in the tracking system it shows that the product has arrive in Australia sort facility which is a good thing. And USPS priority does have a tracking system, but they do not have an insurance that comes with it.

Re: Postage from Flying Mule via USPS (USA- Sydney Australia)
You'll love the 111. Great mold and livery.
You know how us Americans are. The USPS is 10x worse: "Let's see, Australia...hmmm, never heard of that one. Hey Frank, where's Austria? Wait. This one has more letters. (looks at globe) Ah hah! here's a big country that starts with an A... that must be it..."

YES! After seeing SKF photo review on the RAAF F-111, I said to myself I had to get one.. looks GREAT I hope all this delay will be while worth it HAHAHA...! Thats actually true, people do often misread Australia and Austria. Well thankfully they didn't mistakenly send it to Austria.
