Re: Tem's Collection
Well I must say that is a stunning piece. Great choice. Still don't have a B-17, this has definitely moved it up the list of priorities.

Re: Tem's Collection
That B-24 is one of the nicest models I've seen in a long time. Convinced me to go for one whenever I see it. Ebay also?

Re: Tem's Collection
Wow Tem. Those are some nice additions. The AJ102 and 107 are awesome. I like the low-vis camo on them. The F-8 is a great model too. I have the other 2 Checkmates and enjoy them thoroughly.
The A-1 is a classic as well. Very mean looking with all that ordnance. I can't get enough Stukas, but have changed to more modern subjects. I still keep my eye open for good deals on them.

Re: Tem's Collection
Thank you. I have fallen into the trap on the CW F-14's, I can't get enough of them even with their minor flaws. The A-1 I am surprised at how much I liked it, it goes well with the Camo one I have. The F-8's are surprisingly well put together and I can't wait to add the VF-142 Hunters one. Anytime I can add WWII models I am a happy camper.

Re: Tem's Collection
My favorite F-4. It looks great and has a cool story behind it. Those pictures are really well done. You've gotten very good with your camera.
The CW F-8s are very well done. One of the Checkmates was my first diecast model, and it spoiled me. I'd like to get them all, but have to leave room for other models.

Re: Tem's Collection
Great looking Tomcats. I'm glad you got both Fast Eagles... they look wonderful together.
You have the same F-14s as me, except I didn't get the Bounty Hunters. You can kinda tell when someone got started collecting by the CW Tomcats that they have... Felix is by far my favorite, even if it is the one with the most QC issues. I love the tail art.
I'll be skipping CW's latest Jolly Roger. It seems rather dull to me. I would love to see more of the two-tone colored liveries. I do have the Wolfpack pre-orded though. I couldn't pass that one up, especially with the pre-order discount. My only regret is the Pukin Dogs that I wish I had gotten, but I don't have room for everything I want... or do I?

Agree "Marauders" is a nice livery. Wonder if we will see any more A-7s from CW.

Re: Tem's Collection
Nice new arrivals Tem. You seem to very good at digging up old releases, or you have more money than sense...
I just got the Marauders Corsair II myself form a sell at the Pub. Its a great model. I like all the CW A-7s. The canopy on mine won't close all the way. I've tried the paper wedge at the top back, but it doesn't work... oh well... I'll display it with the canopy open. Wheres the best place to get a ladder and other ground equipment?
There is another Korat SLUF on ebay now, but I'm sure it will be more than I'm willing to pay.
I can't remember where I got my HM CF-188, but I think it was eHattons. Even with the across-the-pond shipping, the price wasn't bad. It's a great model. I can't wait for the two-seater to arrive.

Re: Tem's Collection
I try not to spend to much on models, I try to buy on the low spend of the swings. The Korat and cf I felt I did really well. Only other old one I am looking for is the hobby masters show time f4
I am looking forward to the cf 2 seater also

Re: Tem's Collection
I can't believe that someone who has a passion for bombers has avoided the wonderful British and German machines out there. Even if you're collection is American, you have to have a Lanc and a Heink to complete it.

Re: Tem's Collection
I have been adding German, British, and American 1/32 scale armor and miniatures to my collection, so 1/72 scale is taking a backseat. I do agree thou I need to add the other Heavies.

I know this response is a bit old, but you kind of danced around SKF's question. I hope you didn't spend any more than 70 bucks on the CF-18.
Also on a completely unrelated note, your pictures of your collection are stunning. I'm surprised at how quickly your adding new models to your collection. Do you have a room or several rooms to display all these beauties at the same time? Or do they sit in their boxes?

Re: Tem's Collection
I purchased the Cf-18 from ehattons, couldn't find it in the states. Spent just under $82 shipping included from the UK.
Thank you. The models I display in 4 rooms, the wife is very understanding. I have boxed up most of my sci fi and nascar collectibles to make room for the military collectibles.

You do have a very understanding wife. I have been given the den, a room and portions of the rest of the house to display, but my wife said I've reached my limit... Funny how it seems inevitable that any sci-fi collections get put away when the airplanes come out!

Same. Currently my room's display is split across military (vehicles, ships, aircraft), anime, and sci-fi/Godzilla. I think I might have to box up some of the scifi, anime and Godzilla stuff to accomodate more models. Its really no surprise that the Sci-fi stuff gets the boot from the diecast military stuff. I love sci-fi and all, but nothing beats mean diecast models that represent "real" war machines that were used or still are be used in the real world! At the end of the day we collect military diecast aircraft because we admire these cool looking and historically significant war machines!
