Re: Improved Herpa 1/200 B52!!!! Look!
Hmmm. I don't see any improvement on the engines, pylons, or rear fuselage. It's hard to tell from pics available on the internet, but it looks almost identical to the previous releases regarding the tooling.
Call me picky.

Re: Improved Herpa 1/200 B52!!!! Look!
Can anyone tell me about the WBF that I've seen on several 52's? It really breaks that hard angle where the leading edge meets the fuselage. I never noticed the fairing until recently and wondering if the advantage of having it has lead to longer range and better cabin noise.
And yes....this Herpa does look quite nice. How cool it would be to see a passenger military transport version/fantasy.
Thanks,
Herb

I am by no means a military expert, but is the rear turret on a B-52 have that much "greenhouse"?

The rear guns/canon were radar controlled, and actually removed on the G/H operational variants. There are no crew stations aft of the bomb bays.

the canopy still looks too spaced apart, but it is hard to see with that green camo. I'm going to wait for another grey version

Nose too small, cockpit too big. Nothing new. Pass.

That is a cold war legacy. It has little to no aerodynamic effect, nor was it intended to. Its sole purpose was to make certain B-52's easy to identify, visually. For Soviet satellites. The B-52's with that fairing added on, retained full nuclear capability. This way the Soviets could keep track of how many we had, and where. (We agreed to this, can't remember if it was SALT or START or what treaty)

Re: Improved Herpa 1/200 B52!!!! Look!
The variety and colourful nature of the different generations of B52, not to mention the variety of weapons fits, makes the B52 a great, if difficult, subject to model.
I bought all the Corgi B52s I could find, helped by the fact that they were all remaindered fairly quickly.
I wish Herpa luck with this venture.

Thank you. It appears the START "1" program tracked the number of aircraft and SALT tracked the B52's parked and decommissioned - guillotined.

I hope Herpa can improve their model. Definitely would like to add a 1:200 B-52 to my collection.
