Re: Concerts You've Been To Or Are Going To ?
Never heard of "Black Music", but I think that might get the PC cops after you. I think you mean Hip-Hop, Soul and Motown. I enjoy some good Motown and jazz every so often, been to a Commodores concert once upon a time, and one by Joe Sample. Like Tupi, I've been to many concerts, and quite a few of them are a haze now. The mellow ones:
The Eagles
Linda Ronstadt
America
Foreigner
Foghat
Supertramp
The Police
The Pretenders
The Doobie Brothers
The Moody Blues
The Motels
The B-52s
The Tubes
Bob Marley and the Wailers
Charley Daniels Band
Kentucky Headhunters
The Knack
Tears for Fears
The Fixx
The Eurythmics
Percy Sledge
Grand Funk Railroad
The Black Crows
Elton John...I got dragged to that one, get it?
Tony Bennett
Black Sabbath
These are all the ones I remember clearly, there were probably a dozen more I can't even recall a thing about. The 70s were berry berry good to me.

Re: Concerts You've Been To Or Are Going To ?
The last one, though I don't really think of it as a concert: Before that, really concerts in my mind: - The Doors
- Simon & Garfunkle
So those last two really date me.

Haha, that's funny! I just googled "Black Music" and got about 200 000 000 hits but... most results on the first pages were in German.
Could it be "Black Music" just sounds English but only Germans use this expression? For some reason in Germany a cell phone is called "Handy". Most Germans are pretty surprised when English speaking persons don't understand what they mean.
Just curious!

Re: Concerts You've Been To Or Are Going To ?
Being 52, my big concert-going period was mid-to-late '70s, early '80s
Aerosmith x 4 (because they're among the greatest)
Led Zeppelin (1977)
Black Sabbath
Uriah Heep
Heart
B-52s
REO Speedwagon (much better in concert than their top-40s crap)
Lynyrd Skynyrd (not into that genre of music but I suppose they were/are musically talented)
and there are more I'm not remembering (can't imagine why... )
Here's another question - how many of us still have their ticket stubs? Mine are in a box somewhere but I still have them.

Re: Concerts You've Been To Or Are Going To ?
Other than a few drink coasters from some gasthauses I was at, I don't have too many physical reminders of my time spent in the '70s, especially not the ticket stubs. They just didn't seem important at the time. A lot of the concerts I went to were overseas, since that was where I was stationed in the late '70s-early '80s. Hamburg was THE place to go for bands and fests.

Re: Concerts You've Been To Or Are Going To ?
I've saved crap all my life... so what did I end up with? Boxes full of crap.
more:
Blue Oyster Cult
Ted Nugent (not easy to admit to that one - the man is a moron)
Golden Earring
Nazereth
and I think there are more - maybe those brain cells are just relaxing

Re: Concerts You've Been To Or Are Going To ?
I just remembered that I have an old Styx T-shirt that I had Tommy Shaw sign...and I don't remember the concert. Like the lyrics to a song by Katie Perry, "It's a blacked-out blur, but I'm pretty sure it ruled...damn!"

Was he all decked out like in "The Blues Brothers"? That might have been fun to go to. Some of the oldie oldies were pretty entertaining. Seeing Tony Bennett, Roy Orbison and Lena Horne back in the '70s/'80s was enjoyable...but not a steady diet, just change up from rock and roll.

I was working for Uncle Sam at the time, in secure communications with a Top Secret clearance...I would NEVER do anything like that!
