That's right, a new Mayday season is out and there are several new episodes of Crashes from more recent years. Here is the new line up. I have already seen the one about British Airways 38, Crossair 3597 and Colgan Air 3407. Great shows as usual, definitely better special effects, real life scenes and writing. Overall the show has been improved, I used to think Mayday was gone from TV Stations after episdoes from the most recent seasons didn't air, and on the extremely rare occasion that Mayday did air, it was an overdone rerun of an older episode. I thought it was gone for good, and it is the last of the Aviation shows, so that is not good news. But in the past 2 weeks I have seen 3 new episodes, about one every week. Next week will be US 1549.
Sounds good...we get Discovery Europe here, but never heard of Mayday? We do get a series called Air Crash Investigators but that's on NatGeo-could it be the same series under a different name? Either way, sounds good. Enjoy!
Air Crash Investigation and Mayday are the same shows as far as I know, just different names. Gotta say, I am loving the improvement on Mayday over the seasons! The episode on Colgan Air 3407 was very interesting!
Ok,cool. Well I love Air Crash Investigators. I hope we get the new season soon! Our yearly CRM course is usually based on something out of that programme!
Mayday is the North American title while Air Crash Investigators is the European title.
The show itself is produced in Canada.
The only difference between the two is in NA, we have a speaker with an American accent while Europe gets a British accent speaker.
It is indeed a fantastic show, and this season is FANTASTIC so far! And there's some real good ones in this season's batch! Can't wait to watch their Hudson Miracle story.

It always amazes me how good the investigators are.Unbelievable that they can take a charred, exploded wreckage the size of a 747 from the bottom of the ocean and put it back together piece by piece til they establish what exactly went wrong.
No. Here in the US we get Air Crash Investigation. The British/EU show is Mayday
No, in England it is most certainly called Air Crash investigation. In Canada it is known as Mayday, which is the original title of the show.
I guess the US differs from Canada's networking.

I've never seen people so excited about a show dealing with primarily tragic crashes and many lives lost. I guess you people like death as entertainment. It is a very informative documantary show and I do watch it, but come on, lets be a bit more sedate about it huh?

Nobody's fascinated and entertained by death, Bill-ay! What Heavy mentioned is exactly why most watch the show.

I feel like I've read or heard somewhere that he doesn't fancy the extra attention. That may be wrong though.
Yeah, I think I read that in his book "Highest Duty", he didn't enjoy being called a 'hero', and also made sure when he was invited to certain places that his entire crew would get the invitation. The Hudson episode was pretty interesting, an amazing story really that everybody on board survived. I sure pity the controller before he knew of the results, must have felt horrible.
