Happy birthday Billy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with the KLM Orion! Nice cake, now, go lose some weight!
I never knew Billy's username was WestjetterO!
Haha, the cake I had tonight was really rich, one piece and you're done! Topped off with some Raspberries. It was a great dinner and great dessert! But I doubt I'll keep the weight on, even when completely pigging out I'm still quite skinny.

Does "Hummm" translate to "Yes"?

Happy B-Day Kiddo! Now Where's My Gift!
Nice Gitter. Can You Play? I'm Expecting To Hear Eruption.
Thanks Rick!
I've been playing guitar since I was 7, I've gotten pretty good by now. Still taking lessons too. This is my first 'real' electric guitar (the other one is a started and a ripoff of another type, I'll probably sell it). And it's not a cheap hobby, this guitar and others I looked at cost about the same as an entry level SLR ($400-$500), while future guitars will probably cost $600-$1000 and beyond. That's without an amplifier and the collection of Effects and Sound processing pedals I hope to obtain.

Well You Don't Have To Lecture Me On The Cost Of Music Gear. I Used To Own A Gibson Les Paul. The Nice Red One. $700 Bucks. I Used To DJ So To Avoid Buying An Amp I Hooked It Up To My Audio Gear Via The Cassette Deck Interface (I Had I High End One Which Cost 800 Bucks Back In 1982). Cranking The VU Meters Gave Me An Artificial Distortion Which Gave Me The Heavy Metal Sound I Was Looking For, But It Wasn't Quite The Same As A Proper Distortion/Sustain Pedal But Good Enough, And Since I Already Invested $3,500 Bucks On Audio Gear (Remember That's In 1982 $3,500 Bucks Was A Lot Of Chump Change Seeing Minimum Wage Was 4 Bucks An Hour And A Brand New Chevy With A V-8 Was Only 10-12 Grand), I Wasn't Going To Buy The Entire Get Up.
In The End, I Sucked So After A Year, I Sold The Gitter To My Sister Who Could Tell You A Story Or Two Of Falling All Over Drumkits Onstage. She Wasn't Any Better, But Once Two Or Three Cool Ones In Her, You Could't Tell Her Any Different.

Ah, so you do know what I'm talking about . My (soon to be) guitar is modeled after a '76 Gibson Explorer (but sold under Epiphone's brand since they are licensed by Gibson to produce and sell almost identical re-makes of their guitars for nearly half the price). But I think U2 made the explorer famous. It's been a signature U2 item since 1978 when The Edge (U2's lead guitarist bought it in New York City. Still in use today.
As for the effects, a lot of U2 songs I know feature effects. If you watch any YouTube video you discover that Edge is mad about effects units, as am I . Although I would rather have a collection of pedals rather than one unit with foot switches, that will really break the bank. The first pedal I'd go for is a delay/echo pedal again featured in most U2 classics like Where the Streets have no name, I still haven't found what I'm looking for and bullet the blue sky, Pride ( in the name of love), City of Blinding lights and New years day among others. Next would be an Autowah pedal for stuff like Mysterious ways and The Fly. One needs a Distortion/Sustain pedal and a rotary effect. Beautiful day, on one 8 second piece requires a delay effect, shimmer, pitch shifter and something else, it's a weird but interesting sound that you wouldn't expect from a guitar. With or Without you is interesting at the beginning, you use an ebow or sustain effect to make the guitar sound more like a violin, the rest is delayed.
There's the occasional song like Sunday Bloody Sunday and Vertigo that require no effects. But otherwise, playing my favourite songs can be expensive when each pedal costs $30-$150. So that's basically why I'd want so many different pedals.
