While I consider rap to have the maturity of children's rhymes and something left over in the vat of the music industry, it doesn't matter what kind of music flight attendants mimic on these LCCs. I don't want to be forced to hear it or be a part of it.
I had my one stupid experience on LCC, AirTran. Stupid male flight attendant was constantly on the intercom telling stupid jokes. When we were on the ground waiting for the gate to open, he told a joke in very bad taste and all of us booed him.

Not all rap is bad, just some puerile aspects of the industry (gangsta rap as it used to be known) spoil it for the ones who are good at their craft.

The Fox News Channel is not a trustworthy, balanced, reliable or objective network -- watch it for a laugh -- then turn off your TV. I was on a flight with that FA going down to TPA, no big deal, kind of annoying. Some people laughed some clapped but most looked like WTF? Last edited by STEVEJ; 06-28-2009 at 12:17 PM. |

Dope!!!!
Cool, really cool. There are some really good rap bands out there. I think Gil Scott Heron pioneered rap in the early 1970's. What is a crime is that the statue of the two pioneers now resides outside the visitors centre but i feel it needs to be where all the passengers can see it. It is a crime for BAA to have moved it infront of a faceless glass and metal building. I hope Adrian with me here. It would be like moving the statue of Queen Charlotte at CLT to the little aviation museum, and then hiding it away, there seems to be little time for history at UK airports anymore............

There is something that is not generally known and which the British never mention. Lieutenant Arthur Whitten Brown of the Royal Flying Corps came from an old-established American family and was born an American citizen in Glasgow, July 23, 1886. Brown's father brought his family to Glasgow when he was investigating a site for a Westinghouse factory.

No Faze, the current location is on the old "Northside" area, not far at all from Graham Bridges excellent diorama site (see the model airports forum). Not far at all. The visitor centre is not terribly well used and I just think it is a crying shame that the BAA do not have this outside the renovated Terminal 3 facade, at least where millions of people can see it. This location in your photo is in the Central Area, just near to the control tower at rear. Hopefully when Heathrow East is completed, the statue can have a fitting home. Either that or in the centre of T5.
