C'mon guys... don't believe everything you read. This threat comes from the guy who tells his people that he flies fighter jets and shoots a 27 when playing a round of 18 holes of golf. Kim Jong-il is a joke... and he does this from time to time to get his brainwashed people all riled up.

A mistake was made in the translation of the North Korean Press Release. They did not threaten a "Nuclear Fire Shower", the correct translation was "Warm Golden Shower".

Perhaps the North Korean Government actually meant to send this warning to their own people of what would occur if a conflict were to erupt.

It's amazing that wing nuts like those found in Pyongyang can still exist in this day and age. A hearty thank you is in order to all of the nations who helped to prop up these ***-clowns since 1953.

Seriously though, yes, he is a bit loopy, but in all honesty, if his Hamster driven, Heath Robinson technology actually DID achieve something, then you can bet your bottom dollar that the rest of the world would pound him to smithereens in an instant.

True, the likes of China might get involved, but I think even they would have at least some remote semblance of sense! (I hope - I mean, with nuclear, nobody wins, not really anyway, and after all, man has no desire to eradicate himself as a species).

China has tolerated this nut case for two reasons, he pays hard cash for goods, and instability in North Korea would lead to a flood of millions of refugees over the border into China.

Now on the other hand, if the west does the dirty work to take this idiot out, China would stay on the sidelines. Their patients with this idiot is running thin and even China would like him gone. After we do the dirty work, China will make Billions on helping to rebuild N. Korea.

I suppose that at the end of it North Korea will still be a communist state with mother China lording it over them instead, causing other problems in itself. Even if the West intervenes, then there will be one hell of a mess for the North Korean's regardless.

Rhetoric is the only thing Kim Il-Jong can do well. The Dear Leader (a name he gave himself, like his father called himself Great Leader...these were not titles bestowed by the people) actually likes American culture. He likes American music, cars, food and music. He just doesn't like Americans. He's a freak with bad hair, and no one would take him seriously if he didn't have nukes (which the Chinese helped him create, to their regret). I say send in the SEALs and some B-2s, wipe out the rocket and nuke facilities, maybe kill this little monkey, too. The good old tried and true American solution to pesky problems. Stomp them flat. i think the u.s.a is more scared of china then they are of n.korea, n.korea detinated a nuclear weapon underground very close to the chinese border yet china did nothing about it, if the usa and other global powers got backing from china they would soon shut up. china also gives backing to the sudan government who are causeing attrocities against there own people. russia also have there fingers in a few sticky pies

best is to subcontract us nuclear submarines construction to North Korea
it's a win win situation, instead of having twenty expensive subs the us will have 100's whith that cheap labour.That will give work to the poor North Korean, everybody happy, North Korea first trading partner.
Just in case give some also to South Korea to make them happy too, they might be jealous.

I just heard on the radio in my car that North Korea is threatning to shoot down the Japanese spy planes that fly above the North Korean Air space. Any thoughts about what North Korea and Japan will do?

The real danger is the Pakistan region.
