I had been dropping in on 400sh forum from time to time w/o ever registering as a member, basically trying to keep my leisure time things simple with one forum , but now i find half of the forums @ 400sh are listed as private , i assume to casual viewers if you dont log in? I guess i could register and become a new member but i wonder what brought about this change, anyone know?

Regardless of what bought it on; from a webmaster perspective they've just killed themselves from being indexed in google; on of the worst decisions any webmaster can make.

My experience with 400sh, is they tend to be a bunch of elitist snobs. They are very quick to delete posts of people that don't have the same opinions as Todd and Andrew Klien. If you disagree with those two, too often, they ban you from the web site. So it makes sense that the next step in the process is to close off contact with all other collectors on the web. They are kind of like the old Soviet Union.

Over the last year, 400sh has introduced a large new section of the forum devoted to pornography. A very strange group of collectors hang out over there indeed.

Being relatively new to these DAC forums, i did catch on to that pattern pretty fast but have been cautious about commenting about it to this point...

I had a good laugh this week when Mr K launched a new thread (hiding behind an alias of course) trying to bash Air Paradigm once more, DAC being a "collateral damage". Unfortunately for him people there didn't follow his way and some even took Michael's side despite the Puppy's efforts ! Needless to say the whole thread was deleted a couple of days later !!

What I Don't Get Is Why Klink Is Stupid Enough To Think People Believe Him Anymore. There's No One On These Forums More Delusional Than Him.
He Also Seems To Think By Deleting Those That Don't Agree With Him, Their Opinions & The Subsequent Flame Wars Will Disappear.
Mabe The Flames Might Be Temporarily Be Abated, But Poeples' Opinions Of Him Will Be Lower Each Time.
His Alias' Are Transparent And Laughable. I Think By Now, Most Readers Know Klink Regardless Of How Many Aliases He Creates.

After spending time over at 400SH, I'm quite happy with my decision a while back to return to the DAC fold. This is the first site I found when I started collecting diecast. We have great peeps over here (not that there weren't at 400SH) I miss Ron Minor, Yukon and a few others but it became less about the hobby and more about agendas. I pulled the rip cord and bailed.

I wish 'em luck with whatever direction they choose to go.

I will have to acknowledge there were a number of very nice folks over at 400sh that at least tried to stay of of the political agenda of the dog and his master. Ron Minor was one, and I don't understand why he has continued to hang out with the pervs over there. Then there are the whack jobs that hang out over there like the 400sh porn master Sal, who has one hand on his mouse and the other hand on his crotch.

All I have to say, I go between the W900N sites and 400SH, and I like them both. They both have a unique quality to them. The thing between the few certain members/manufacture owner and a certain retailer/former owner of the site has been going on for YEARS. I could remember back in 2006/2005 when AK was basically accusing this guy of conspiring against him because of a few bad reviews on W900, and so the jabs go back and forth through the years.

Nothing new to me. If you wanna read the threads, I guess getting an account shouldn't hurt, it is free and you don't have to post. I will admit, the new "profanities" over there are just quite funny to me.

Yeah i suppose i could, just curious what brought about this though and to someone new just starting out in this hobby that may also seem wierd as they give no explanation why on their FAQ page. I have participated in many forums of all sorts, but this is the first time i had come across something like this.

All forums have their problems. I think everyone should remember that.
I'd like to participate more here, but a flurry of remarks on many threads that really are not well thought out, leaves a not so good impression on me sometimes. I do read this forum, as there are many great things to be learned here. I'm not bashing DA.C at all. Sifting thru the B.S. sometimes is not so much fun....but, oh well.

The 400SH, it's a great site, good people, lot's of info. I do like it, and have over 5000 posts there. I'll agree, the censoring is a problem, but, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. It used to bother me about getting deleted, but not anymore, and sometimes, it was the correct decision.
As far as Sal, and his porno section goes, that's just not right to label him as a "porn master". That man has served in the USAF, and has provided an amazing library of aircraft photos that he shares with all that are there. His photos of nice ladies are well done and tasteful, confined to one section of the forum. He has a wealth of technical knowledge as well. I'll defend him to the end.

Now, if you really want some fun.....visit AirlineBuzz. Excellent talk about issues, not all aviation, but a very well balanced, great group of people that are there for some good, down to "Earth" talk about real subjects and not just model airplanes. Be prepared though, say something really dumb on that site and the sharks will be in a frenzy and rip you apart like a baby seal in the jaws of death. It's a great site too, and I like it since they call a "spade a spade" over there. Don't like it in Dodge City, then get outta town amigo.
