Free still would not be cheap enough for this POS phone. If you like toys get an iPhone, if you want a smartphone workhorse, get a Blackberry.

Tupe!!! I thought you were an Apple supporter ... it is NOT a "piece o' sh_t" ... it's a BRILLIANTLY crafted Piece Of Superb industrial design ... I don't dislike Blackberries at all ... but I PREFER the iPhone because I'm an Apple computer user and I like the TIGHT integration it provides with the Mac OS and iTunes ... whasamatayou???

uhh are you sure the new iPhone cost $99? As I recall, the old iphone cost 99, the new one (3GS) starts at 199. Regardless you pay a lot more due to the monthly data plan fees.

Belive me, I'm a huge Apple supporter for all of their products, except for the iPhone. As a heavy business user, I find the iPhone just misses the mark for a business smart phone. If you just want to surf the net, play games. and listen to music, then go ahead and get the iPhone.

Although it won't be out here for aaaaaaggggges!!! My mom has a blackberry and it is seriously awful!

What exactly is the difference in this and the iPhone 3G? The compass looks kinda cool. I have an iPod Touch 2nd gen I wish it had a camera like the iPhone, that's the only feature its missing.

Did you know that you can use the iPhone or iPod Touch as a scanner while spotting, by using an ATC feed from the internet? Its a bit delayed but not by too much.

the new one has, 3m pixel camera, video recording, its faster, voice control and theres more on the apple website!

The previous generation iPhone 3G is selling for $99 ... the NEWLY-released iPhone 3G (S) is $199 (for 8GB) and $299 (for 16GB).

Three words why I spurned the iphone - Ay Tee & Tee. HORRIBLE customer service, while Verizon ranks as one of the best of any company in customer service.

Can't argue with that logic ... I guess if you're not an Apple loyalist/fanatic like I am, it doesn't matter.

To be honest though, I did try out a Storm at our local Verizon store and found the interface highly NON-intuitive, and that's coming from a person who's used to poking around on his iPod Touch without any assistance. I'm sure the Storm's engineering is sound, but it's the GUI (graphical user interface) that I found very disappointing, and I was about to buy one for my wife and son (they had that 2-for-1 deal) and ended up getting the Blackberry Curve instead, because it had the QWERTY keypad which was more intuitive for my wife.

I really didn't like it though ... and I was trying it out for about half an hour!
