Default Any San Francisco Members here??? Question

Other then Kai are there any members here who can answer a question I have about my upcoming trip to San Francisco??? It has nothing to do with the airport or spotting, it is a question about parking downtown!

Russell,
Where abouts downtown?.. I was there in April and had a rental car so I might be able to help you.

I lived there from 1992-2006. Tip: Take BART from SFO instead of renting a car if you can. lol

I thought that parking was pretty easy to come by... even in the touristy areas. I mean there are not too many cities that you can park all day for $25... but I found places in San Fran that were right around that. I can't even park in Manhattan for an hour for $25.

thanks for your responses..I am staying in San Francisco driving up from SoCal for 4 days and have a rental car..the hotel wants $55.00 a day! I need the car because we are taking day trips out of the area each day...Any ideas where I can leave the car??? Staying at the Hilton in downtown....

I know exactly where that is... I actually ate at a decent restaurant nearby called Fleur de Lys... if you like French cuisine you should check it out. In that part of downtown you're going to get killed on parking regardless of whether you go with the hotel or a private lot... although I think some of them in the vicinity were closer to $37-40/a day. This was part of the reason that I stayed close to SFO and drove into the city everyday. I actually found the cheapest parking down by the bayfront... Around $30/day but overnight spots were really limited. You could take a trolley or bus from there to your hotel... but that would be a hassle. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you Russell.
