I have found a unused domain i want to register and create a new website,

can i buy a website name once and use it forever or can i only buy for one year?

if i buy for one year, do i get the chance to buy again or can somebody else take it from me?

who owns a domain name before me?

who is the best company to buy a domain name from?

1) You need to pay for the domain name annually as long as you own it - it's like a lease - you pay on it as long as you use it.

2) Use a company like NetworkSolutions.com or GoDaddy.com, or any other reputable domain name reseller or hosting organization. You shouldn't need to pay much more than $10 per year to own (lease) a domain name. Some places will even pay for your domain name if you use them for hosting the website. Look around!
