To our Pakistani DAC members
I hope that all our Pakistani friends are well and safe against the current round of terrorism striking their homeland. I'm not much into prayer, but I want to express my support and concern for all of you there in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and all other places affected by the war against the Taliban. To have them strike back in such a desperate and cowardly way just demonstrates the evil of fanaticism, and justifies resistance against religious terrorism. My thoughts are with all of you in Pakistan who share our enjoyment of this hobby and love of a free society, I wish you well.

I was thinking the same for our Pakistani members too. Just couldn't put it into words like you.

Re: To our Pakistani DAC members
It is a shame what is happening there, and then it is an even bigger shame, that I never visited the beauty of the North of Pakistan when I lived there. Now it is totally taken over by the Taliban, and even the poor people of the Swat Valley have been driven from their homes. Please allow me to share pictures from this excellent Pakistani photographer, Syed Kami. Such simple people, such simple lives, such simple beliefs all taken away from them. Let the photos give you a glimpse into their lives. Gospodin thank you for your thoughts!

Re: To our Pakistani DAC members
Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes it is depressing and concerning but thankfully I live way down south by the sea and whatever that is happening is up north in the mountains which doesn't make it any better because that is one of the most beautiful areas of the country. Totally untouched virgin land, clean water, crisp air and the mountain range is breathtaking.
I think its fairly obvious by now and everyone here has made it quite clear that they will not tolerate or accept any Taliban influx or influence and they will be chased out anywhere they try to invoke their medieval laws and way of life. The unanimous message being passed around is fairly straightforward: Get the f@#% out of our country!

Re: To our Pakistani DAC members
The news have been quite bad during the last weeks, I hope this fight will come to an end soon, and in a good way.
The real naughty thing is to know we've been playing with fire for years, only to get burnt now ! And as usually it's mostly innocent people who pay the highest toll. Will we ever learn ?...

Oh at least let them do that. The fewer of them the better.

I wish the best for the pakistani people. I have a lot of good friends in the USA from Pakistan. Is there a confidence level in the Pakistani government and military to take care of this crises with the Taliban? The news media in the USA tends to spin the news of the Taliban making major gains in controlling the country.

I usually watch BBC world news, because IMHO, CNN (Clinton News Network) is totally unreliable. FOX is the only US News I watch, but anyway, I hope everyone is safe. What a shame about this. It seems like everyone wants them out, and I think Pakistan will be able to sort this out.
