Tonight, I went along to Helensburgh and froze my nuts off. Why??

Well, the radio message that summed it all up went something like this:

'Queen Elizabeth Two Queen Elizabeth Two Queen Elizabeth Two, this is Clydeport, Thankyou for 41 years, it has been a pleasure and we hope you have a good and safe passage'.

'Thankyou very much, it is appreciated'.

Well, yes and no. This is her final visit to her birthplace (well, ok, she can't get to Clydebank now because of the Erskine Bridge, so Greenock is as close as she went. She's a Bankie and we are all proud that she is local!

She will be at Queensferry (Edinburgh) on Tuesday, Newcastle on Wednesday, then she will go to Southampton, before going to New York and then .... I'll get the link for the website in a minute, but she will last be at southampton on the 11th of November, and it is then that she will start on her voyage to Du*ai.

A guy there had a radio. All I know is that it was channels 0 and 16. One seemed more 'public' than the other if that makes sense.

Hope that helps as I don't know enough about it. Wish I did, and I'll need to look into it.

Hate to see the old girl go, I was 6 when we were let out of school in Boglestone ( The dirty wee port ) to watch her coming down the Clyde. One of the few things I remember from that long ago. RM2 just not the same.

I've heard of Bogston, but not Bogglestone. Oh well, I've learned something there.

The QE2 was one of the last great things to come from the Clyde, so yes, I agree.

QM2 isn't the same, but, that's progress.
