What is the purpose? This place is established and allows us freedoms that Facebook never could. Pass, thank you.

Easy, it is just another option for DAC to reach more people I guess.

And to get them to join here? I could see that. But to kibitz around on FB as we do here . . . I don't think so -- not me.

It's as much as I can do to keep up with my e.mail, the forums, E.Bay, scanning slides, building models, writing articles and keeping the wife happy! Won't touch Facebook or Twitter - no time or inclination to put my personal life on there and deal with all the hassle I hear others get.

That is pretty much my take on it as well. I just don't have time for another distraction that has no clear purpose to me.

After years of saying that I will never join Facebook I decided to join Facebook just last weekend. Don't really want to put my life out there for all to read (boring) but for DAC and some of the suppliers that I buy from I will consider being their "friend".

I joined Facebook back when you still needed a .edu address. It was okay back then. It was a good way to stay in touch with high school friends that you were friends with but not close enough to where you would actually pickup the phone to call.

Now, I have a few psychotic people that have to be friends with me. I tried unfriending one...once and she noticed within 30 minutes, had a fit, and sent a message to the family saying how I can try to unfriend her but we're still family. Yeah, my wife's cousin's wife...it doesn't get any closer than that.

I do not like Facebook either but they do have a lot of people over there, many that I think would like it here better and the new page is our way to get them over here. So lots of teasers of some of the fun that we are having...

The requests for likes help as the more likes a page has the more people see and visit it.

I use and enjoy facebook immensely, It enables me quick contact with friends, I run and are involved in a number of HO scale and other earthmoving and trucking groups, so to me its suits me very well. I understand others confusion as to how it all works but once you work out how it all comes together its great, Ive been helped out with model parts and other stuff from members there and information too.
It has its good and not so good points, at the end of the day I am glad I chose to use it. If DAC feels its the way to go I applaud the decision and will support it!

I came late to the party but I now enjoy facebook immensely. I've connected with people I hadn't talked to in 40 years. When the software is working it's really a pretty cool idea.

Not sure how it will benefit DA.C but I just "liked" it.
