Vancouver Canucks Fans...
You planning on burning the city down again, or will your first-round exit to the 8 seed Kings result in only minor rioting this year?
Hey, the presidents trophy kinda looks like the Stanley Cup...if you're drunk and squint real hard.

Re: Vancouver Canucks Fans...
Not a Kings fan, but Jesus Christ, how much failure can you poor folks endure? My god, even Anaheim, Carolina and Tampa Bay fans can say they know what it feels like. And for the best team in the league (again) to be down 3-0 to a team that barely squeaked in....
Can Roberto "It's an easy save for me" Luongo get it going?

Re: Vancouver Canucks Fans...
Compared to the other Canadian NHL Teams, the Canucks are pretty good. They just take a lot of crap because they come close, but not close enough. Most Leafs, Flames and Habs fans are content when their team doesn't even make the playoffs. They're a good team, their time will come.
As for the LA Series, I can't explain why their defence and offence was sh1t in the first 2 games. Luongo wasn't really the weak link, it was more the rest of the team. But I think they played better last night with Schneider in net. Hopefully they can turn it around on Wednesday, fingers crossed Daniel Sedin comes back.

Re: Vancouver Canucks Fans...
Put a fork in them! The Canucks are done! The brooms in LA will be out for game 4. Kinda funny that all the so called hockey experts were picking the Pens vs Canucks in the Stanley Cup final! Both teams are down 0-3 in the friggin first round, and will probably be golfing next week! Only 3 teams have come back from 0-3 deficits in NHL playoff history, this stat does not bode well for the Pens and Canucks! Cheers! T7

Re: Vancouver Canucks Fans...
Well I don't think fans will be rioting if the Canucks are eliminated in the first round. It's just another playoff series...
The stats show that the chances of Pittsburg or Vancouver recovering from 3 consecutive losses in the first round are low. But LA is not a high scoring team. Which is why it's really surprising that the series is being lead by a team that barely made it into the playoffs.
Game 4 is the last chance, and if the leading goal-scorer in the NHL comes back that might change the game. But they still need to win 3 straight games to tie the series. It's a slim chance, but it's not over 'till it's over.
As for the Phillie-Pittsburg series, I think those two really hate each other. Although the flyers seem more motivated since Pittsburg beat them in the final a few years ago. The Penguins are just frustrated, I don't think I've seen Sydney Crosby so peeved and so aggressive.

Westjettero; you are referring to a 'Conference' final or semi-final between the Pens and Flyers? Because, both are in the same conference (East). Cheers! T7

I was referring to the 2009 Eastern Conference Quarter Finals when when the Pens beat the Flyers and the Pens went on to win the cup. I remember watching a couple of the games and the rivalry between them has become tougher since then. Now here they are in the same spot 3 years later.

Yes, there is no love lost between the 2 pennsylvania neighbors, hee hee! It didn't help that they played eachother twice in the last week of the regular season, and that chippy play continued right into the playoffs.

The Canucks are a good team when they actually give a sh1t. They didn't when playing against the Kings.
And can we just kick Luongo to the curb now? No, you know what, screw that, restructure the whole damn team.
Tho I have to admit, the Kings were also pretty lucky this time around.

Couldn't help but respond to your avatar. And based on your response, you are either contradicting your avatar or you don't know the meaning of it. Tell ya what peckerhead, this is a hockey thread and Beavis and Butthead are in the penalty box. You sucked wind on the first power play but you still have time.

What's wrong? It looks cool! Why must there be a reason for everything you come across? Why so serious? It's easier to have a heart attack at an old age when you get hysterical, just a heads up.

Woody, Faze: 5 each for fighting. Woody gets the extra 2 for instigating, and Faze gets 2 for roughing. 4 on 4 hockey for two minutes. Looks like the Casucks found a way to win one in front of the brilliant play of the Ginger.

...you're kidding me right?
Kings won by luck and Canucks not giving a sh1t in the first two games are the only reasons that the Kinks got this far. Last game shows what happens when the Canucks actually try; the Kings get owned.
Anyways, if the Canucks do get eliminated, I could always cheer for the Coyotes...blah.

I'm going for my Norfolk Admirals team. They are tied with the Manchester Monarchs 1-1 and travel to New Hampshire to hopefully take round one.

43 saves, not bad eh? I think Schneider should start the next 2. He's on fire right now, Jonathan Kwiky's got a worthy opponent. Meanwhile, Luongo's gotta get his playoff socks on.

Luongo let in 8 goals in 2 games, Schneider let in 2. It was a combination of terrible offense, bad defense and not so good goaltending in the first 2 games. In game 3 they put in a good effort but didn't win. In a way you could say the Canucks were slacking off.
Getting the other twin back helped the team, but this is what happens when they are really in the game (for whatever reason). They didn't let off the pressure after 1 goal against them. If they keep it up tomorrow and in Game 6 they could turn the series around.
In other news... Are the Bruins finished? Are the Penguins coming back? Are the Senators really going to move on?

It got cut down to 1 for me
Folks, I posted my first post on the night I did land a behind hit on someone. Got scolded and barked at by their coach big time on that one. Course I didn't mean what I said , just that the aftermath was a lil tough to take. Even my team was pissed at me cause I made them handicapped in the house league finals. That was my last game if they lose the next one and don't force a game 3.

Sorry, you're wrong about the Habs. Montreal has the most passionate hockey fans in the World. They cheer the Habs in good times and they let the Habs know when they're not happy. It is not uncommon for the Habs to be booed by their own fans on home ice. This year was one of the worst in the team's history and the team felt it from the fans.
Fans from other cities move on to baseball, basketball and soccer, Habs fans are still angry and will not forget what the Habs have done this year and will carry it into next season.
They better not pull off an embarrassing public apology either!!

Re: Vancouver Canucks Fans...
Well, that's it, the playoffs are kinda over for me but I'll still watch them. This series just boggles my mind. If a team like the Rangers or the Bruins beat the Canucks in a series 4-1 you could say they are the better team because they are top 3 in their conference.
But the Kings? Really? They squeaked into 8th place, 6 more points and Calgary would have taken their playoff spot.
Honestly if the Canucks gave a rat's a$$ about this series they would have shown it in the first 4 games. If the Canucks played well throughout the series they could have easily eliminated the Kings, but they slacked off and let them win. If you finished first in the regular season, you have to play pretty badly in order for a team in 8th place to eliminate you.
The whole team is probably jumping for joy because they haven't made it past the first round in 11 years. But I hope they aren't serious about going much further. Other teams are going to play serious hockey and they're not going to let you win the series. I'm going to look into my crystal ball:
...The Kings get their royal a$$es handed to them by St.Louis. 2023 is a long ways away. Enjoy the next 11 years in Sunny California!

Having watched every single game, I thought the Canucks played decent enough, they were just up against probably the best goalie in the league right now, and certainly the best goalie of the playoffs; Jonathan Quick. Orion...you, much like the Vancouver Canucks, underrate the Kings. And for that, the Canucks all have tee-times today instead of boarding the team charter for LA.
And lets face it, the Kings are due a cup before the silly Canucks...they've been in the league 3 years longer.
I'm not a Kings fan. Personally, I want to see a Blues-Flyers final with Philly winning the Cup. St Louis has finally built a team that is capable of making it all the way, and they are long overdue. But the brand of Philly hockey, the tough, physical, exciting-yo-watch hockey, combined with relatively low star power (well, not for long with Giroux) are, in my eyes, the most deserving.
Time to find my old #27 Hextall jersey and dust it off.

Re: Vancouver Canucks Fans...
I am with Dylan! Go Flyers! cheers! T7 (my flyer's jersey was shrunk by my little brother a few years back, and to this day I think he did it on purpose so it would fit him only) side note= Caps go out in the 1st round again! Ovie somehow just can't get the job done in the playoffs!! When you have a chance to eliminate the defending champs in the 1st round at home (game 6) and are unable to do it, might as well book your tee times, cause the Bruins will win game 7.

I have to hand it to Quick, he was like a machine out there. Brings back memories of trying to get the puck past Timmy Thomas last year . I think I heard he has let in no more than 1 goal for 27 or 28 games (something like that), quite impressive. The Canucks' Goalie Cory Schneider knew and played against Jonathan Quick long before the two of them went to the NHL, and now here they are facing each other in the playoffs. I think the anxiety from last year against the Bruins is still lingering in the team, I can tell when they seem to get the playoff jitters. They played a good season this year and I think they will continue that next season.
I've taken some interest in the Senators-Rangers series. The Sens have never really been considered a strong team here, but I am certainly impressed they are leading 3-2 against the best team in the East (funny enough Ottawa was 8th, New York 1st ). Although it is evident that the Rangers are going to force a Game 7, that I will most likely watch. Along with Game 7 in the Bruins-Caps series.
I think the Blues will be the team to beat from the West, most likely. The Predators have potential, although I haven't really seen them play at all this year or in the playoffs.
From the East, I would pick Phillie or Washington. They will probably play each other in the Semi-final. Although I can't really say much about either team, I haven't watched the Caps play at all and I have only seen so much of the flyers. Washington seems to have all the All-Stars who are agile, but maybe too good to be injured. Meanwhile Phillie has a rough and tough style of playing. We'll see what happens. Boston & Washington and Ottawa & New York are going to Game 7 this week.

Cheers! T7
Canucks and Penguins are golfing this week, both the Capitals and Senators will be joining them on the links later this week. T7 (if you can't close out your respective 1st round series at home, you don't deserve to move on!! Caps and Sens had the golden opportunity to eliminate the Bruins and Rangers at home in game 6, both choked! And both the Bruins and Rangers will win their Game 7's at home!)

Caps are in. Epic showdown in the garden between the Rangers and Caps. Caps might take it.

Re: Vancouver Canucks Fans...
Yep, got the Bruins wrong. Oh well, I am rooting for the Caps to take down the Rangers, and meet the Flyers in the Conference final.

Re: Vancouver Canucks Fans...
Yeah, I'm a Caps fan, but I'm not bragging on 'em, although they have done better than most locals anticipated, and that Bruins series was a true classic. The Caps matched up perfectly against the Bruins, and you never know what the balance will be in the next series, but it's great tv. Outta here, Doug

Re: Vancouver Canucks Fans...
Well, the best part of the playoffs so far, seeing Boston lose to Washington, not that I really follow the caps . Just another weird upset since the defending Stanley Cup Champs got beat up by a team in 7th place. Like LA and Vancouver and Almost New York and Ottawa. Although I got a laugh out of seeing the Bruins get a taste of reality, they really are sore losers and they don't know how to take a loss. The team and fans crossed the line with racial comments made against Joel Ward, the player who scored the game 7 winner in OT. You can be arrogant when you're on a winning streak but this is really low, not cool at all. I guess a Tim Thomas Temper Tantrum was not enough to vent the team's anger and now they have a date with Tee Time .
Now what's up with St. Louis and LA? 3-1, really? Could it get any more weird than this? Someone should just take out Quick for the rest of the playoffs .

Man, I would laugh really hard if the Kings won the Cup. Everyone on 4chan's /sp/ board is leaning on the Coyotes rite now cuz they are the only team that doesn't generate hate, it's fairly amusing.

Thats because Boston sports fans are an insufferable lot who don't seem to comprehend that others are allowed the joys of victory and the pain of defeat.

..... I read somewhere that the Canucks were just too disappointing to riot over.

I never predicted what would happen, that was just a "what if".
What can I say? Everyone likes an underdog! Especially the bandwagonners I know. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna go return my Koopitar jersey tomorrow.
