Sadly there isn't one ! Aer Lingus is my favourite scheme for the F-27. Would love to see one even from HM even though their mould is not the best. Any one else up for this ? It works in 400 scale.

THE AIRCRAFT



The Grumman F11F/F-11 Tiger was the first supersonic, single-seat carrier-based United States Navy fighter aircraft in operation during the 1950s and 1960s. Originally designated the F11F Tiger in April 1955 under the pre-1962 Navy designation system, it was redesignated as F-11 Tiger under the 1962 United States Tri-Service aircraft designation system.

The F11F/F-11 was used by the Blue Angels flight team from 1957 to 1969. Grumman Aircraft Corporation manufactured 200 aircraft, with the last aircraft being delivered to the U.S. Navy on 23 January 1959.


THE MODEL

The very first F11F Tiger release by Falcon models. The subject represented is from VF-21 which was assigned to Carrier Air Group Eight (CVG-8) on the USS Rangerīs shakedown cruise from 04 Oct 1957 to 06 Dec 1957. The F11F carries the tail code "AM" of Air Task Group 181 (ATG-181).

Overall I am very impressed with this latest addition to the Falcon stable.

The model has a lot of metal content and has a considerable heft factor. It comes well packaged with Sidewinder missiles and Area Ruled external fuel tanks pre attached. All you have to do is plug in the nose gear and main gear modules (although the main gear doors are separate but are easily attached). The nose gear is a bit "beefy", but if it was as delicate as it should be - it might not stand up to any abuse given the heavyweight of the model (Falcon is not alone in this regard - Hobby Master's F-101B Voodoo comes to mind). You can also display the model "Gear Up" if you wish. A Pilot figure is not included but as usual I have used a Hobby Master Volunteer that fits without any modification required. The canopy can be positioned both open or closed and a plastic black display stand is included.

The colour of the model is spot on. I have included a photo taken with a Century Wings F-8 Crusader and the two colour schemes match very closely. If you have other US Navy jets in your collection you can be assured that the Tiger will fit in nicely with your other Century Wings or Hobby Master Navy Jets.

Overall a great addition to the US Navy Collection. Very highly recommended.

Hey guys in the hype & anticipation for the arrival on the new bird to join my AA fleet, I prepared a nice photo shoot with some of the birds already on my AAfleet and I cannot open the manage attachment tab, so now not only I haven't even recovered my Avatar or open up a new thread to post my pics. Any advise of what could I be doing wrong here??? I have some really cool pics but I cannot post them. :rolleyes:
