Why is the Trade Forum now called Mojave Desert Sales?
It took me a while to figure out what happened to the trade forum and I thought it was removed; so why the change in name which sounds more like a store than a trade forum?

Wel There Should Be 2 Forums I Think.
Here's What I Think Is More Appropriate.
Mohave Desert--Scratch And Dent, Missing Parts, Parts For Sale, Chipped Paint And Zinc Rot Models.
DACH DAC Holdings Hangar---Trader Forum For Used And Unwanted Models...Or Something To That Effect.

Quite agree! It took me a while to find it also. The Mojave Desert is where old airliners go to die and be broken up. Not exactly an apt description for a thread where someone wants to sell a mint/boxed model!!

Adrian,
You should know that Mojave Air and Space Port is much, much more than a boneyard. Please read their aircraft storage and FTA summary.
AIRCRAFT STORAGE
Mojave's dry desert climate and acres of available open space makes the Mojave Air and Space Port an ideal location for aircraft storage. Numerous large Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed, and Airbus aircraft owned by major airlines are stored on site. Some aircraft reach the end of their useful lifetime and are scrapped at Mojave. Others are refurbished and returned to active service. Storage arrangements can be made on a long or short-term basis.
Flight Test Associates (FTA), one of our community businesses, provides storage and associated aircraft maintenance services for many U.S. and international airlines and leasing companies. For more information on storing or maintaining your aircraft at Mojave, please contact Mr. Robert Rossatto at FTA on 661 824 5530 or at rrossato@flttest.com.

Ah, True, I've Known That Too, BUT 2 Things.
1) Collectors Don't Readily Associate Mohave As A Storage Facility, But Rather A Boneyard.
2) This Is Not A Buy And Sell Facility. They Lease Space To Airlines That Store Inactive Aircraft.

1) I don't see you as the judge for associating collectors with these facilities.
2) Through aircraft brokers, it is in fact a facility where aircraft are bought, sold and leased.

True Enough, My bad, But Again, Little Known Fact. I Was Thinking ILFC Or Other Leasing Company As An Example. Never Thought Of Mojave As Either Storage (Though In The Back Of My Mind I Knew That) Nor Holding Company.

Mojave may or may not own a leasing company, but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that the aircraft manufacturers, banks, leasing companies, brokers, parts dealers, furniture makers (see pics), etc all have their hands tied into these storage facilities around the world. What gives credence to this forum name is that its based upon commerce in the 1:1 world; buying, selling, trading, leasing.
Now for some fun from Motoart:

Is that the same company that was featured on Discovery Channel or TLC a few years ago?

It sure was. I don't know if they ever released a dvd, but I'd sure like one.

I was in the hospital a few weeks ago. This was the admitting desk in the emergency room.

Hope you're alright Tupe.
I said wow, very cool! Then I thought, why would hospital own a motoart desk that costs in the neighborhood of $30,000. Unless it was donated, I can see one reason why our healthcare costs are so sky high.
Below are two very stylish examples of reception desks that range from $3,000 to $5,500.

I'm alright now, I was not too good for a couple of weeks. It was pretty surreal to be checking into emergency at a hospital with the admitting nurse sitting inside the cowling of a 747 engine.
This desk was most likely a donation. I understand from talking to a nurse, they also have one of the wing conference tables. There is an aviation theme at this Kaiser Permenente Hospital in Downey CA. It's a brand new hospital just opening in September. It's built on the former site of North American Rockwell factory in Downey, where the Space Shuttles were built.

Hey, I would've had surreal thoughts at both extremes; either having great inspiration on life or I was just about to check out and board the big airlplane in the sky. Pretty wild. Your explanation about those hospitals and their relation to aviation makes complete sense to me.
Stay well.

Ted, why did you go through all the trouble of going to the ER? A bunch of penicillin, a liberal application of that ointment, and you'll be good as new in a week! And remember, no matter how bad you want to....DON'T SCRATCH IT!

Dylan, it appears you have a lot of experience with this condition. One of the risks of a pilot traveling from one city (woman) to the next.
