When I reached LHR to check in for my QR flight, I realised that I had well over 2 hours to kill, so I checked in and then walked to the bus stand and hopped on a bus that dropped me off short of the roundabout where the EK A380 is planted. Had my camera in hand and took some more pics. The model is now complete and looks to be very detailed save for a registration:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Inside the LHR T3 departues, SIA has hung a much smaller scale A380 that has been there for about a year now: ![]() ![]() ![]() Pics of my flight back will appear in the 1/1 forum.

That corner where the traffic is turning left, looks very dangerous....could cause endless delays with people just slowing down to gaze at the beast (till they get tired of it, of course)
![]() I prefer this picture and angle of the A380 compared to the EK A380 outside. With the BA 777 incident it almost looks like the A380 landed on the soft grass as well |

It's not decent unless they do!!

Moin, you forgot to mention that the EK is very ugly and out-of-place...

I have just received an unpainted '340 from Flight 777, and it's HUGE, it is about twice as big as everything else I've got - the '380 model went through my mind as I opened the box!
![]() Now, all I have to do is decide on what to do with it, although I do have a few ideas. Not even sure where I'm going to put it when it's finished, it's F**king colossal!

My only critique of this massive model is that it might be more impressive higher off the ground with slimmer support structures. Other than that its amazing. How does it looks at night? Does if have internal lighting?
Penwal Company of California delivered the model in July..... http://www.dailybulletin.com/search/...lybulletin.com

I'd love to see it in the dark, but unfortunately didn't get the chance this time round.

It would make sense if the fan blades were free to turn with the wind but I don't think they do. As long as this doesn't start rising and descending like a simulator!

If they did rotate, then they could link them up to little dynamos that lit up the plane when the wind blew

Tail Strike! I'm waiting to hear about the first car that "misses" that turn and plows into that thing...Billy may be the first one. Then he could blame it on being confused becuase you drive on the other side of the road over there.

He'll be arrested for under-age driving more than anything else

Maybe, but if it's destroyed, then all they will do is repair it, or, simply replace it with a new one.
No, best thing to do is wait for a while, i.e. a few years at least, and then if you are going to destroy it, they might replace it with some hitherto known newer plane which is actually quite nice looking. Boeing 797 anyone?? ![]()

If, however, on the other hand, the next new plane is just as bad as the '380, then, I guess, all you critics will be bummed!
