Hello All
I'm think to you from Belgium to Engeland (London) at London Heathrow airport. Now that I'm there I would like to pass by Aviaton Retail Direct. Can someone give me the best details (so number of bus, the fees ...) to go from Heathrow to ARD? Thanks Alvaro |

I have only been there once and I got the underground to Hillingdon and then walked.
Okay, if you take the underground from Heathrow to Acton Town, you can get a train to Uxbridge. Hillingdon is the stop just before Uxbridge. All of this is on the Piccadilly line. Please bear in mind that, depending on the time of day when travelling, the frequency of these services may be lower than normal (as I found out at Acton town, so you may need to be a little patient). You can also get the Metropolitan line to Hillingdon, but that would involve having to go into London and then back out again. It is cheaper to take the Piccadilly line as you will only travel between zones 6 and 3, whereas with the Metropolitan line, you would be going between zones 6 and 1. You should be able to get some '61 and '73 stock haulage in anyway regardless of the line ![]() Annnyway, once at Hillingdon Station, turn right, walking away from the motorway. Walk straight down the road, past the shops and houses until you get to King's Sutton Road on your left. Walk along this and it will be on your right. Walking time was about 15 minutes to the shop from the station. Hope this helps. |

If u drive, get on the M40 towards London, come off at the junction for Hillingdon, go over the roundabout and turn right at the traffic lights, continue down for 400 yards, turn left at the library(this is Sutton Court Road) and its on your right 100 yds. The pub up ahead does a good all day breakfast, we had a corking one there on our last visit.

Thanks all !
And who knows the Openinghours of the shop, As I can't find it on their site? And another very important question, all the models that they have on their site, they also have them in their shop? So if I get to the shop I can choose between the same models as on the site? Regards Alvaro |

On the other hand, I found some things I hadn't seen on the site. Perhaps I was just unlucky, but I'd now ask if they have something in stock beforehand, especially something big. I'll tell you, the only real problem I had was that on the website, it gives no real indication as to how far away the shop is from the underground. In another message, it describes the distance as being only 400 yards, but I can tell you now that it was a damn sight more than that! I said it was about a 15 min walk, but on thinking about it, it obviously just seemed longer than it did because I didn't know how long it was going to take. Certainly, on the way back, it was about 10 mins. Last edited by Roarer; 04-25-2008 at 01:45 PM. |

By the way, do they still have the model of the Antonov 225 in the window display??
I'd hate to think how much that's worth! |
