All,
Over the past few days we have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to improve the health of the Wings900/DAC server. During this time you may have experienced some downtime. Because our server is accessed 24x7, it is difficult, if not impossible to choose a time that will not affect any user. As a result, we performed these upgrades as needed and whenever we had the time.

We've seen traffic growth over the last year, and the amount of data (users, collections, etc) in our system has grown. Growth is good, however we do have to take measures to alleviate the stress on the system. We don't want to say we've outgrown this server, besides the price is in our budget; upgrading would put a strain on our cash situation. The following items were configured and completed over the past week:

1. Webserver and PHP recompiled based on CPU chipset
2. Additional memory allocated for PHP cache
3. Dedicated image server (lightttpd) installed, Apache now dedicated to serving applications.
4. Forum attachments over 1 year removed
5. Forum attachments and avatars moved from db to file system - reducing VB calls
6. Persistent connections for most applications turned off - Experimental

Wings900/DAC apologize for any downtime, however you should notice a difference in the responsiveness and speed of the server. As always, please report all bugs to team@wings900.com
