Default Will Nalanji fly again?

Not too sure if i should post this in this section, BUT...........
I heard rumours on the grapevine that Qantas is now in the process of getting Nalanji Dreaming back into airworthy condition. Does any one know if this is true? And if it is true, will it return back into the Qantas fleet?

There is no plan to re-livery the 747-300 that flew with the Nalanji Dreaming scheme back into that livery.

There has been some discussion that the 747-300s may end up being converted into freighters for Qantas' planned freight subsidiary but no firm news yet.

There has been a persistant rumour that the Nalanji Dreaming scheme may be ressurected for one of the later A380s, but nothing confirmed.

Would be good to see Nalanji take to the skies again...i miss seeing her at Changi Airport! Before the A330 came in, this B743 was doing the BNE-SIN-BNE almost everyday!

Well Qantas has gone back to using the 747-300 to LAX so it's not like Qantas isn't using them anymore.

Personally... I think that the livery should be re-painted on a 747-400ER like Wunala.

From photos on Airliners.Net and JetPhotos.Net it looks like they have been coming in on occasions but frequent occasions.

Hey boys! Talked to my insider at Qantas! Apparently Nalanji had been flying to Howaii and another location but forgot what ONLY. It's however currently in the hangers and they are planning to retire the 743 and repaint it on one of the 744. The A380 was in SYdney yesteray been putting through its paces an I was there, will post another thead and photos about that! What a sight to see it in person! Too bad I missed the take off at noon today but there was a freaky wind and fog today and all take-off had been diverted out to see anyway so the original north take-off and low flying pass the city was cacelled anyway.

About your JAL fleet, yes it still uses them. JAL has seven 747-300's whereas two of them is an -SR version (Short Range). Hope that helps.
You're a lucky man! The last 743 I saw was in FRA in the early 90s, from JAL. Since then, I never saw them

Prestwick is the place to watch old 747s, it still gets the Evergreen -100Fs and all other models up to the LCF. There was an Atlas -200F at the hangar when i went past(plus A5-RGE, a Druk Air 146). Yup its the place.

Qantas is still debating painting one of the A380s in an aboriginal motif.

One school of thought suggests moving Wunla Dreaming across to the A380 and repainting the 744 in standard QF big foot colours.

Another is of the opinion that they should leave Wunala alone (as not all airports in Qantas' route network are A380 capable) and paint an A380 in either Nalanji colours or a new design from Balarinji.

Verdict is still out.

I personally hope they go with a new design altogether. But if they do want use a current design, leave Wunala as is and use the old Nalanji scheme. I myself self think its a better scheme any way.

Another question, do you think they'll apply the big foot scheme to Wunala and Yananyi, or leave them as is ???
