newark airplane memorabilia show

does anybody know why this show is not taking place in newark anymore? it usually takes place in sept in the ewr sheraton. please let me know if you have any information.

It was started by Bill Gawchik and grew to be quite something. I had the chance in 1996 to get a ramp tour at EWR by attending the slide show the night before. Awesome time that Bin Laden screwed up for all of us, no doubt. It's traditionally been on the first Saturday after Labor Day, but when that was the anniversary of September 11th a few years back, Bill opted out and The Airplane Shop took over. It's been three years since I've been to the show, but I'll head over to the Airplane Shop tomorrow and see what I can find out.

I learned today that the show never got off the ground. The group that would have taken it over wasn't advised in time to get it done and have it be up to par. Expect ir next year, I am told.
